About
Designed by Rees Jones, Broad Run Golfer's Club boasts one of the best layouts in the area. The course sprawls across over 370 acres of rolling hills countryside. The dramatic elevations are definitely not something you would expect from a golf course that is conveniently situated so close to downtown Philadelphia. The elevated tees feel as though they're in the clouds and mature trees frame most of the holes. There are hazards lurking throughout the golf course including swampy marshlands and tall, dense grasses that are all just waiting to swallow errant shots. It is a challenging layout no doubt but it is made more player friendly with generous fairways and Jones was also light on the bunkering. One of the most difficult and scenic holes is the par-5 15th. This hole plays uphill, featuring a blind tee shot to a plateau green surrounded by trees.

Broad Run is always ex wllent
If Broad Run were closer we would definitely play it more than we do; which is typically 1-2 times per year! Course is always in great shape and challenging!
Bad experience
The round started off with the other two golfers in our foursome, teeing off five minutes early because they wanted to play alone.. The group behind us, a twosome was told that they were late for their teatime although they were five minutes early and forced to skip the first hole to join us. The greens were in terrible condition as were the tee boxes. My local public course charging $35 around is in much better shape. It’s over $100 for this round which was a complete rip off considering the course condition and pace of play. This is my first and last time playing broad run.
Hills
Better be in shape! Secondary fairways were closed to carts and hills, hills, hills. Good luck
Could do better
Overall the greens and the fairways were in great shape.
T boxes were poured to average in most cases.
Understanding.
That their grill does not open till 11 AM.This is very poor planning on their part, especially when they have people Going Out at 6 or 630 in the have.No hair for your house to stop that.
For the pressure pay they should,. In addition, When the cart girl finally gets to come out on the course they should have2, One on the front nine and one on the back nine. When the court did finally come out , we saw her on the fourth hole and then again on the eighteenth hall when we were finished. Poor management in this case.

Good Course/Friendly Staff
I play Broad Run several times each season. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent (4:15). The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Full size driving range and putting practice green.
Course layout is a bit awkward but manageable.
My only issue is that there is no drinking water on the course. You pass the clubhouse at “the turn” so you can restock there.
