Broad Run Golfer's Club
About
Designed by Rees Jones, Broad Run Golfer's Club boasts one of the best layouts in the area. The course sprawls across over 370 acres of rolling hills countryside. The dramatic elevations are definitely not something you would expect from a golf course that is conveniently situated so close to downtown Philadelphia. The elevated tees feel as though they're in the clouds and mature trees frame most of the holes. There are hazards lurking throughout the golf course including swampy marshlands and tall, dense grasses that are all just waiting to swallow errant shots. It is a challenging layout no doubt but it is made more player friendly with generous fairways and Jones was also light on the bunkering. One of the most difficult and scenic holes is the par-5 15th. This hole plays uphill, featuring a blind tee shot to a plateau green surrounded by trees.

Great layout
A true test of golf from any set of tees.
Course conditions were ALMOST a 5
I would have rated it a 4.5 if that was an option.
Glad to be out playing the game.
One of the best in the area
On the expensive side but one of the nicest public courses in the area. The course is always in great condition and the tee times are properly spaced.
Awesome Golf Experience
First time playing on this course. What a gem!
Very pleasant experiences, the starter was very friendly and gave us numerous tips about the course. Since there was heavy rain in the forecast (which didn't happen) the course was wide open and we played in 3 hours. Overall conditions were impeccable. Greens rolled fast but true. For this early in the season great course conditions.
We had an enjoyable golfing experience and will definitely return to play again.
Challenging
Bring your A game or prepare to be humbled. A very nice, challenging track.
Winter conditions
The course is usually great the many times I’ve played it before - today it was not in good shape, although it’s early January, so how much can you expect ? There were 2 greens closed and cart path only. Just wish they would’ve notified Golfnow before posting the tee time with a notice. It was a long drive that i/we would’ve avoided if we had known
Great December Outing
Great weather and course was in pretty good condition considering all of the winter maintanence. (2) temporary greens but great day over all.
Great course layout
Great course, conditions were perfect and my favorite part was the greens rolled fast and true. A real pleasure to play
A perfect November Day
Course was in very good shape for this time of year with the pace of play uninterrupted . Still took us nearly 4:30 with a foursome. Two areas for improvement - most bunkers had substantial standing water several days after the last rain and many ball marks were left unrepaired making for unpredictable putting on nearly all the greens
Very nice
Really enjoyed the course and thought it was in great shape. Views are spectacular. Would highly recommend.
Bring your A game
Played twice within the last week, both times a day after rain. Cart path only on holes 4,5,9,11,&18. Fairways are wide and if you were on the wrong side of the cart path it was quite a walk to the ball and there are often hills to climb down to the ball then back up to the cart.
The course is in great shape with the exception of the bunkers. I might have thought that was mostly due to recent rain, but it seems to be a constant in the past reviews. They should have a tractor to rake them to start the day to loosen the sand.
A beautiful, scenic course. Come play and enjoy the course and the views, but don't really think you are going to walk the course.
Pace of play is slow due to cart path only, hills, large greens, and course difficulty. It is what it is. There are so many uphill holes that have uphill landing areas, so you don't get any roll on tee shots. If you are not a long hitter expect quite a few second shots that are over 170 yards.
I experienced a group of three that was matched with my tee time as a single and they objected playing with me even though I had made the initial reservation. The starter was very apologetic and offered me a variety of alternatives knowing that I'd rather not be forced on a group that did not want to be paired with someone. Things worked out fine and I appreciate the starters thoughtfulness.
Decent course, but....
This is a decent golf course, generally in good condition, particularly the greens. There’s a lot of elevation change, so if you don’t care for that, avoid this course. My main concern about this locale is the lack of staff to support players on the course. I played in a foursome on the last date I played there, and we were following a threesome. We had to wait to take nearly every shot, and when it became clear on the back nine that the group in front of us had completely lost sight of the group in front of them, I called the pro shot to ask that they send a ranger out to push the threesome along. I was advised that there was no staff to do that and to ask the group in front to pick up the pace. We did, with unfortunate results - told by them to take it up at “the complaint window”. That’s not the fault of the pro shop, but knowing the issue with slow play on public courses, it’s a disservice to the paying public not to have a ranger on duty.
Okay
Course must get a lot of play
Greens were not in great shape but some of that is rudeness of players Not repairing ball marks. Layout is beautiful
Not sure if it’s worth $90

Hello, James. Thank you for reviewing the course. We obviously encourage proper etiquette of repairing your own ball marks, but our crew is doing their best to keep the greens in top condition on our end as well.
