Broad Run Golfer's Club

Played twice within the last week, both times a day after rain. Cart path only on holes 4,5,9,11,&18. Fairways are wide and if you were on the wrong side of the cart path it was quite a walk to the ball and there are often hills to climb down to the ball then back up to the cart.

The course is in great shape with the exception of the bunkers. I might have thought that was mostly due to recent rain, but it seems to be a constant in the past reviews. They should have a tractor to rake them to start the day to loosen the sand.

A beautiful, scenic course. Come play and enjoy the course and the views, but don't really think you are going to walk the course.

Pace of play is slow due to cart path only, hills, large greens, and course difficulty. It is what it is. There are so many uphill holes that have uphill landing areas, so you don't get any roll on tee shots. If you are not a long hitter expect quite a few second shots that are over 170 yards.

I experienced a group of three that was matched with my tee time as a single and they objected playing with me even though I had made the initial reservation. The starter was very apologetic and offered me a variety of alternatives knowing that I'd rather not be forced on a group that did not want to be paired with someone. Things worked out fine and I appreciate the starters thoughtfulness.

This is a decent golf course, generally in good condition, particularly the greens. There’s a lot of elevation change, so if you don’t care for that, avoid this course. My main concern about this locale is the lack of staff to support players on the course. I played in a foursome on the last date I played there, and we were following a threesome. We had to wait to take nearly every shot, and when it became clear on the back nine that the group in front of us had completely lost sight of the group in front of them, I called the pro shot to ask that they send a ranger out to push the threesome along. I was advised that there was no staff to do that and to ask the group in front to pick up the pace. We did, with unfortunate results - told by them to take it up at “the complaint window”. That’s not the fault of the pro shop, but knowing the issue with slow play on public courses, it’s a disservice to the paying public not to have a ranger on duty.

Course must get a lot of play

Greens were not in great shape but some of that is rudeness of players Not repairing ball marks. Layout is beautiful

Conditions were great. The only thing not up to par was the bunkers. They could use some work. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were very good. Would not hesitate to go back.

Broad Run is fun to play although a little guirky in spots. Reasonable conditions and pace of play

Course used to be well maintained. Now, not so much.

Traps were trashed, tee boxes, fairways, greens, all in rough shape.

I’ll be back in the spring to see if things change.

as much as I like the layout of this course , I have to say the conditions of the green are below average

Played before and was a good experience but not at this time. Aeration and no bunkers(full of water).

I was set to play with a group of 4 but they put alone in busy time. Sometimes I had for more than 10 minutes yo hit a shot. At the end I went back to the office to complain but the felt sorry for and wished for me to come back to have a better experience. The gentleman tried his best and gave me a free basket of balls for the range. GolfNow should have my money back.

Invited a friend,it was his first time playing at Broad Run.He is looking forward to bringing his son there to play.
