Golfer Reviews
So much potential... still, after all these years...
I was there when this course first opened as "Remington", way back wen.. A world class facility, course design & difficulty. It was supposed to be one of the handful of premier golf stop in the state of Washington. It opened to great reviews and anticipation was high.
Well, after all these years, I'm still waiting for that potential to blossom. I still love the course design & the challenges, but am disappointed by how the course is managed, from the course conditioning and management... and if one is going to make a long trek out to Covington to play, it has be worth their time. Perhaps an increase in greens fee for increasing the overall quality of the course would be in order... perhaps in the neighborhood of Washington National, Trophy Lake or even like the facilities at Newcastle?
horrible staff and not golfnow friendly
I purchased a golfnow for a twosome, and was about 10 min late. When entering the clubhouse I asked the staff ( knowing I was late) how busy it was and how long the wait would be. The front attendant said not too busy and my group could tee off after the group on the tee box. I then showed him my golf now confirmation and his reply was you are late and I'm not going to be able to get on for 30min to an hour!!
I have played there many times and I will say that the clubhouse is absolutely horrible!!!!! It is very rare that I get good service there.
The course is very fun and we'll designed however not well kept. Greens are poor most of the time and course does not do well when rain comes.
The best part is the restaurant, service is amazing and food is always good. The clubhouse should take tips from the restaurant on customer service.
Great course
Still one of my favorite courses! Still a little wet and there were a couple holes where the greens had been relocated to a fairway but understandable this time of year. Was pretty bummed they don't have the skycaddy system on the carts anymore
Good workout.
Challenging course with water on many of the
holes. Next time I will rent a cart, too long of walk
between holes. Nice restaurant and excellent beer selection .
Damaged Greens
It was sad to see the greens in such terrible conditions. Even played a couple temporary greens. Definitely a tough layout with bunkers guarding almost every green and water everywhere. I want to play it again in the Summer!
Bit damp but good day
Sun was shining and Mt Rainier was spectacular. After a week of rain the fairways were wet in some areas. Greens were in good shape. This course is above my skill level but I enjoy a good challenge and spending a day with my son who could ask for more. I'll be going back.
Course need work.
Had not played the course in a couple years so I was looking forward to it as I had really enjoyed it in the past. It was a little more pricey than my last few rounds on Gol Now but based on my past experience i thought it would be worth it. The clubhouse and resteraunt were STL nice but the course is in poor shape. Many greens are diseased and rough, tee boxes need work and fairways need touch up. With some heavy TLC this spring they might turn it around but right now I wouldn't recommend thi course.
Soggy!
What a beautiful layout and scenery; just wish I'd stayed in the cart! Should have had a clue when I stood in casual water off the first tee. Every drive stuck in the mud or backed up. Not recommended for 12 handicapper like me. Maybe if you're a +2 you could get around. Ran into a huge guy after the round who said it played very long even for long hitters. Staff was great but they'll never see me again.
Soggy, soggy, soggy! Horrible and unplayable for the average golfer.
get out here
Great variety of holes. Not too far from my house and I've played it a few times so far, and will play it many more. Winter or summer it has above average conditions throughout. Not cheap but not expensive. If yourin the area its a course you shouldn't pass up
A little wet, but what else do you expect in the NW winter
We usually play this course in the summer, and this is the first time we played it in the middle of winter. The fairway was wet and our shoes and socks were wet after a few holes. Greens are still firm and dry. Compare to other courses in the area, it's in relatively good shape in the winter.
lots of water
had never played this course, the weather was cool, the fairways were wet. still had a good time, score wasn't good but can't wait until it warms up in the spring. the course is beautiful and will be a lot more fun when it dries up.
Nice layout and setting
Overall good condition. Greens are very good. Fairways tend to be wet - not a good winter course. The standard green fees are too high and non-competitive but got a good deal with Golf.now.
Nice
Nice layout, pretty holes... Would play it again. Paired with two local knowledgeable gentlemen whose help was appreciated.
beautiful course, poorly managed, round over 5 hours!
-pace of play was terrible! No marshals or starter to regulate slow groups, people would start when ever they wanted, the group behind me "walked on". Beautiful course, but will not go back.
One of the best course for your money
Green was great and the course layout is one of the best. I recommend this course for all the single handicap players.
Druids glen review
Great course! Excellent views. Challenging and yet playable for high handicappers. Very well maintained. Greens are impeccable. Drainage is good. This is a very enjoyable course.
dynamite course with lots of hazards and fun
This is a good solid course with lots of trouble if your shots are wayward.... 3 out of the 4 par 3's require clearing water which makes it a little more exciting....the course is currently very wet in places due to all the rain we have had the past week. The greens were sanded this past week, which effected some putts, but all and all it was a good round. Bring plenty of balls if you can't keep your ball in the fairway or out of the water....
