Course has some great holes
Course has some great holes. A little trimming on the edge of the bunkers would make it a bit more pristine.
Great features, needs better maintenance
This is a great layout with character and each hole is unique. The fairways were over watered in many spots, and the areas in front of ponds and bunkers are filled with dandylions and blackberry bushes. In my opinion, the fairways need to be more selectivly watered to minimize dead spots, but not to get to the point of being soggy, spongy and hard to hit off of. They need to be a harder surface. More watering needs to be done in areas that were once filled with bull rush, to minimize the growth of the dandylions and other invasive plant species. It is a great course though, just better, more selective maintenance is needed.
GPS gone
Disapointed they no longer have gps.Claim price doubled.
Waste of potential
This course gets by on the fact that it has a great layout and character. Only reason I would return is because it is one of a kind. The course itself is close to a 6 out of 5 star rating based on layout alone. I would rate everything else including, pace of play, course conditions, staff friendliness and managing to a collective 1 star. The maintenance is lacking as far as manicuring goes, and the sand in the bunkers need work. The greens are smooth enough, but always seem to be too slow. There is definitely room for improvement. Druids has the potential to be a championship club and even become private, but it is held back by lackluster maintenance, and under qualified management and staff. Its a shame. The course is always a traffic jam, unless you are one of the first tee times of the day or tee off after 5:30 pm. Customer service does not seem to be at the top of the employees' or management's list of priorities. One of the only things that seem to matter is that they fill the tee sheet to maximum capacity to squeeze every penny out of it. If they really cared about pace of play then they wouldn't keep doing this. The place has digressed compared to past years. Nobody would have a problem paying top dollar to play Druids Glen if they could resolve the the prior mentioned issues.
Beautiful layout, no houses, all natural setting.
I always enjoy playing this course. I have played the course 4 times this year and look forward to my next outing there. We had a great breakfast watching Phil win The Open, friendly staff, and a beautiful golf course.
Pretty good value
Good value for price. Each of the holes feel a little different so the variety was good as well!
Very hard for beginner golfers
Very fun courese great hole locations and lots of sand and water,
Kinda expensive if you dont book through golf now, so do that
Wish I Had Come Down Here Sooner!
I've lived here for 10 years and this is the first time I went down here from the Bellevue area. Well worth the trip[. Great course, virtually no houses on it. Great condition and challenging. Will go back soon for sure!
Good Course & Greens: Poorly Managed that day
Course was in good shape though some bare dirt sports on fairways (#8, 9, 10 & 17 were particularly bad). Greens were rolling true. An AM tournament with ridiculous pin positions caused an hour delay to our tee time followed by another 15 min delay for the grounds crew to follow the tourney and re-cut the holes before we could tee off. Caused our round to be 5 hrs 15 min. The tee sheet was very poorly managed that day in light of the tournament, the hour delay it caused to the rest of the non-tournament golfers (our tee time of 9:15A was supposed to be the 2nd tee time following the tournament players) and having to modify the pin locations.
Course doesn't honor tee time
We had 11:08 tee, when checking in they were behind 1/2 hours because the mismanaged an earlier tournament. Checked in with starter they were actually an hour behind. That is poor management. The staff had oh well attitude so it made it worse. This also caused long waits on holes because groups were stacked.
Love the course
It was hard and challenging, but a very beautiful course to play at. Love the deal from golf now. If it wasn't for golfnow price I don't think i would play here.
This is a beautiful course. It plays very challenging with tons of hazards.
I was feeling good on this course getting par on the first two holes. Then came the meltdown on the 175 yard par 3. I hit 3 in the drink and shot a 10 blowing up my round. I could not recover after that. It's definitely a fun but challenging course.
Top 5 in Washington
I am never let down with this course. The conditions are usually good to great. I recently played on Fathers Day and the pace was pretty typical of the weekend, very leisurely. But I wasn't in a hurry so it was just fine. I booked a HOT Time and played for less than I have ever played there. It was truly a great deal. Another noteworthy point about Druids is the quality of their food. I am always impressed and will look forward to another club sandwich.
Overall, I rank it in the top 5 of all courses in the this state. And I have played a great number. I will definitely play it again this year. Especially if there is another HOT Time.
The greens were amazing!
As usual the course was in great shape. The staff works hard to keep this course in wonderful condition. The greens were especially good. they rolled true, had great speed and were firm enough to hold good approach shots. Only complaint, and this is for the majority of courses in the Seattle area as well, Driving range mats. Please get some grass to practice off of!
Course did not seem as long as the card says.
Fun course with nice views. The holes did not seem to play as long as the card said. I have played much harder courses before. I don't think it is as hard as they say it is.
Great location .
Greens a little bit slow but other than that can't complain
Bring your "A" game
Great course, very challenging. Despite the weather from the previous four days of rain, the course held up very well. Some great holes and views of mount Rainer. Greens in great condition this early in the year and the course notes on the website provided a great tool for our four ball being the first visit to this course. Great happy hour in the club house on beers and food.
Will most definitely return several times......
Great course, but slow play at times.
To be fair, we were stuck behind a tournament on a Saturday. Course is beautiful and challenging! Well maintained and fun to play!
wonderful Puget Sound course - great layout - good condition
Druids Glen is one of the best courses in the area - it has many ammenities: beautiful club house/ good food/ great practice area and the course layout is one of the best in the state.
The only issue we had when we played was slow play - 5hrs (and it was not that crowded). I think the difficulty of course (slope 134 from the whites) created too much challenge for players that day that seem to be 25+ handicappers ...
You hit it right on the money. Was a favorite course in the past, however I am not a fan of 5+ hour rounds and poor conditions. Slow play adds five strokes to your score. I played in June and the tee boxes were looking like the second cut of fairway. Thought about playing today, but all the comments I have read reminded me why I do not frequent very often.
