Tiger Point Golf Club
About
The course at Tiger Point runs alongside the Intracoastal Waterway, offering panoramic ocean views. The course was designed in the tradition of classic Scottish links golf courses but with the added feature of water, which comes into play on 14 holes. A generous sprinkling of towering southern pines sets the layout apart as well. Originally a nine-hole course, another nine was added in 1984 and in 1989, then was another redesign of the golf course. Since then, it has becomes one of the Pensacola area's most treasured courses. Tiger Point also offers a driving range, practice bunker, two practice greens, and a chipping green.

nice course.
The greens had some bad spots, also would have been nice to have a marshall on the course, I left after 3 hours and 45 minutes and just getting to the 14th hole. There was only one foursome in front of us and nobody on 15-18.
A fun experience
The staff and course were friendly and helpful and fun .Thanks from the front to the back .
Great Course with a Couple Rough Spots
I would have given Tiger Point five stars if it were not a few rough spots on their greens. The speed was excellent, I had nothing go offline, and you can see they are working to improve them. The fairways are pristine, however, as are the tee boxes. I will definitely be playing there again soon.
Course was fun, not too hard!
Would have played much faster but got matched up with a super slow player. Enjoyed the course as I was able to relax and just hit driver off most t's. The greens roll well and for the most part the fairways were in pretty good shape. For the price I will be back to this course!
Must play early morning
If you play this challenging course, play it early in the day before the "regulars" (members), come out. I played at 7:15 - 7:30 on Monday and Thursday mornings and finished in 31/2 - 4 hours. On Tuesday, I played at 8:30 behind members and it took nearly 5 hours. Every hole was a wait, with no offer at any time to play though. We were even told at one time to sit back and relax there was no reason to rush. One or two in group ahead of us were even playing two balls on almost every hole. Another member of the same group seemed to be more interested in finding balls in the water than keeping pace. The course was fun, just frustratingly slow behind the members.
Fun to play
Not a true links style course, just open with more water and sand than trees. Greens were ok but grooved, fairways good. Issues: no pictures of the holes on the card, hard to know the layout; confusing signage and layout, have to drive past a couple of holes to find the tee box; saw the drink cart only once in the round (and the East course doesn't reach the clubhouse at the turn). Overall reasonable value if you can get a discount.
Good and getting better
Much work is being done on this challenging layout, and it shows. Better drinking water availability and work on the greens are just two of the improvements since my last visit.
Nice course, but not at full price.
The greens were a mixed bag of ok to very nice depending on the hole. Fairways were mostly good with a few bad areas. The water hazards definitely made the course challenging.
No drinking water (and no beverage cart) was available past the 7th hole and that made the last 11 holes very long and thirsty. several of the back nine drink coolers were empty and that just made it more frustrating.
There is a lot of water on this course so bring a few extra balls!
Nice layout
Besides the staff that could care less if you were there, this course was in good shape and had just enough challenge.
Nice course and could be challenging with the right condotions
Nice course and friendly staff. Course is easy to get to from the island
Well maintained
One of the best in the area. And I have played a few. Can't wait to go again.Great.
Fantastic views
Course needs better signage to direct players where the holes are! Firstly to direct you to the actual tee then better layout on the score card. My dad & I played the 4th green thinking it was the 3rd. Also why not have tee boxes for all the broken tees etc.? they are everywhere! Having said all that the views and condition of the course are good, greens are a bit bumpy having been aerated but will come good.
Love the course layout
Overall the course was in excellent shape, the putting greens needed a little attention as some of them had bad areas ie no grass, so to get a good roll I would move my ball position. I would recommend this course as it has some challenging holes and the overall layout is good.
Consistent greens with challenging layout.
I really enjoyed the course. It has lots of water and a good mixture of long and short holes. I used almost every club in the bag. The island green was spectacular!!! Great value for the price.
If you can get a deal it's not bad.
Could be good if the conditions were better and the staff was more helpful.
Good value - fun course
I play this course each trip to Pensacola and have enjoyed it every time. Course was in pretty good shape and greens were quite fast and rolled perfectly . Greens have many undulations making scoring difficult without great irons shots. Island on the 5th is always fun. Cost of $20 - $40 is a great deal. I've read reviews that pace of play can be an issue but this trip I played at 7:30 and 3 pm on separate days and both rounds were less than 4 hours.
Nice Course that requires some strategy
The water holes require strategy and precision. The course is well maintained. A few of the greens do have some fungus that has invaded the region but they were still well maintained.
No
We didn't finish play 18 hole because waiting two group 4 some in the font and 8th hole was contraction they don't let the player play and don't let us know before to start play so,,wasn't fun
Pace of play was very slow.
No marshalls on course to keep pace of play moving.
How hard can it be to grow grass in Florida? Greens and fairways were not very good. Only $25 thru GN, but I still felt overcharged...Hope new management turns it around - they have a LONG way to go !
PLAY WAS A LITTLE SLOW BUT IT'S BETTER THAN WORKING !!!!
