Tiger Point Golf Club
About
The course at Tiger Point runs alongside the Intracoastal Waterway, offering panoramic ocean views. The course was designed in the tradition of classic Scottish links golf courses but with the added feature of water, which comes into play on 14 holes. A generous sprinkling of towering southern pines sets the layout apart as well. Originally a nine-hole course, another nine was added in 1984 and in 1989, then was another redesign of the golf course. Since then, it has becomes one of the Pensacola area's most treasured courses. Tiger Point also offers a driving range, practice bunker, two practice greens, and a chipping green.

Marshal, what marshal?
I quit on the 8th hole when the 2nd group stacked on the tee box bringing the count to 5 groups on one hole. As I drove back to the clubhouse I identified the problem. I passed 3 separate groups of 5, who were not in a hurry. In fact, I passed the last of the fivesomes hunting balls in the water just short of 16 green. I played 17 and 18 before they made it to 16 tee.
No marshals to be seen.
Nice course, sand and water to make it challenging
Played the day after 2 days of rain, the course held up well. Would definitely play again.
Awesome course!
Tiger Point is a very tough golf course when played from the tips like we did. As a 2 handicap golfer I wanted a challenge and boy did I get one. This course has a championship layout and rewards the straight hitter!
Worth what I paid....
Got on quickly as a single, doesn't seem to be a lot of options near PB, spotty greens, didn't roll well, average at best. No carts in parking lot, yet didn't seem members /others followed the rules as mentioned from the staff.Nice pro shop, friendly staff, overall worth the $20 I paid for 18.Fine course to beat balls.
Fun and challenging!
Overall really great place to play. Maybe too much water though. This was the second place we played while on vacation and I wish I would've come here first. May have played both rounds here.
The only real con I had was the layout of the holes. We got lost several times. Need more directional signs since holes can be really far apart at times.
One thing to note, the $8 I paid online didn't reduce my charge at the course. Luckily, it can out cheaper, so I didn't complain or point out. I was told it was a "booking fee." But nothing told me that upfront.
The person at the desk was not very helpful
We went to this course for our first time we had no idea if the course layout when we were to start we were told there would be a starter there was bit so we just went when we thought we should go
Course was not mapped out very well for first time players had no clue if which way to go
Also yardage markings very hard to find on course would have been helpful if coloured poles visible on sidelines
no course management
Played in the afternoon. Played behind a 5-some of women (not that there's anything wrong with that) and a 2-some playing out of one bag. This place wants to be "classy" but there are No marshalls on the course to actually manage the pace of play. Who in the heck is in charge at this place?
Fun Course
Great, fun course. Pro Shop and cart person at check-in were extremely professional and courteous. If first time checking in and out is a bit confusing, at best due to location of facilities; however, spoke to pro shop and they are in the process of making changes to accommodate patrons. Will definitely play Tiger Point again.
knocking the rust off.
Nice course. I have played worse and I have played better. Nice course to knock the rust off. On course staff were great!
This course is very Open from the tees
Very open ,greens were smooth but did not look great some low spots on fairways got kind of soft.but overall a very nice course
A must play.
A very enjoyable day! A long and challenging course. Course was in great shape for the time of year. The entire staff was outstanding. I would highly recommend you play this course. We will be back soon.
excellent
This course takes my breath away every time that I visit it. Staff is always professional and available. I would not hesitate to place this course on my top three favorite courses.
While we're young
Pace of play was atrocious. We were a couple following two fivesomes for 18 holes. Course was average and has great potential but, until they change their policy of allowing large groups to hold up the field, I would not play there again.
Good for Pensacola.
Nice track. Best course in the area. Fast greens. Frost dammaged but fairways in good condition. Bring a range finder...I think this area has something agenst yardage markers.
Tiger Point
Greens where in great shape for this time of yr. The staff was excellent. I will visit this course again. Great links style course
Not what it was nor likely to be again
Average course for area a little overpriced relatively crowded because of dearth of Santa Rosa peninsula courses
WEATHER ALERT!!
The day was for the birds! But, not necessarily the Snow kind, as not even the friendly, region's winter visitor could have enjoyed this particular day!
FOG! (The only good thing with this condition was that; when you don't hit it long, is easier to find). HIGH WIND! (The bad part was knowing that your "Power Fade" now becomes a "Power Slice"). COLD TEMPTURES! (With the temps in the low 50s, a local is "out of his environment").
The day was more like what the Golf Channel shows when The Open is televised.
Other than that, specially after the turn, when the weather started to normalize, the course played as it always has, Great! Which is the reason why our foursome traveled the 60 miles roundtrip from Fort Walton Beach.
We will return and want others to consider playing Tiger Point, even if, for Once in a Lifetime. I'd recommend the experience even if the travel time makes it a 100 miles round trip!
still one of the most challenging in the area
A really great course and in excellent condition even after a 3 day rain storm
Great course with múltiple water hazards.
Great course. Always enjoy it. The greens where overall good. The fairways and approach areas in some holes were very wet and the ball would plug in and not role. Overall great course though.
Always a good experience
Play Tiger at least once a week. Very accomodating and friendly staff. Nice fast and true greens.
