Lakota Links Golf Club
About
Situated just below the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the lower foothills of the Rockies, Lakota Links Golf Club has a scenic, secluded location that is surprisingly accessible to and from all of the ski areas of Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail, and Aspen. The location is also equipped with spectacular views from all around the course. Jim Engh designed the golf course, incorporating all of his trademarks including bowled fairways, cavernous bunkers, and receptive but tricky greens. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. Lakota Links Golf Club's final hole is one of the most demanding. This par-5 has a seemingly split fairway, a ravine, and a large area of rough.

Challenging
Great course - lots of fun - - great terrain for a course - should go play!!
Enjoyable golf!
Warm up on the flats for nine and then go crazy on the the back where you will experience crazy target golf and elevation changes. Stunning views. Super friendly staff. Value priced.
Fun mountain track!
Fun mountain course with great views and some challenging approach shots. Add in some killer quesadillas, festive drinks and a friendly staff for a nice outing.
Great play at a great price
This course drives one crazy with the continuous challenges laid out in a mountain environment. The course is difficult and fast and the greens are very in very good condition. The only complaint is there is a bit of moisture in the low areas of the fairways.
The staff are friendly and its easy to get a decent tee time especially if you go through golf now.
Great Course
Overall great views, fast & true greens, wide open and not a lot of other golfers, lots of slope and elevated tee boxes, just some wet and swampy fairways, and it hadn’t even recently rained. 10/10 besides the soggy fairway spots.
Best deal around
Staff/owner was very friendly and outgoing. Course was beautiful and just challenging enough.
Water problems delux they should have given big big discounts
Hot. It good
Love the course. In great shape. It was a hot day (90,s) but had a lovely time. Just keep hydrated! 18th amazing! A true par 6. With two revenues to cross - was quite a challenge
Great course-Very hilly
Leaving most greens requires a 25 foot uphill climb. Otherwise course is great.....
Awesome views!!!
Course was in great shape and the views are amazing!!! Friendly staff and the course wasn’t busy. It’s like having a private course all to your self!!!!
Quiet Lakota
Wonderful round today. Playing solo at 2 there was no one else on the course. Had the place to myself.
Greens are in good condition, the course is a bit short on water where water would be, but that just allows you to play through a couple mistakes.
Love the elevated tee boxes, Canyons and the views are spectacular. Looking forward to my next round
Great Course
Very surprised by the negative reviews. We loved the course, the elevation changes can be a challenge but are a good test. Pace of play was very good, under 4 hours. A few greens had some rough spots but overall the course was in fantastic shape. 18th hole was so fun, hitting into a very small green that you can't see was a great way to end the day.
Bad Condition
Its been several years since I have played this course but I feel that it has gone down hill a lot since then. I will say the greens were in really nice shape overall, but the fairways and tee-boxes were terrible. There were some really dry and hard patches in the fairways then some spots that were so wet you could hardly walk on them. The cart paths are trashed now and just in overall really bad shape. It's a bummer because its a cool layout, just in rough condition overall.
desire more
early season but the course conditions were rather poor. not very green, lots of brown patches, kitchen was closed the day I was there. not sure they have a full bar, only beer.
The views and course design are exceptional!! as good as any mountain course I have played. but the conditions of the course and lack of snack bar left me somewhat disappointed
Not worth the money
Very disappointed after just playing Redlands Mesa the day before. Description of the course layout needs to be provided via an updated GPS system or a detailed map. At a minimum, the course should install 150 yd markers. I often use them to understand where to safely aim when not familiar with a course. Flags should always be visible. Hole 18 is a perfect example. Neither the green or flag was visible from the drive. Being only 170 yds out, the flag should have been visible to allow me to weigh the risk and reward of the next shot. Neither the scorecard or the GPS provided enough information to understand the layout of the hole. First cut immediately off the greens was patchy and clumpy. Course had an irrigation problem. Some areas were dry, hard, and thin while many were so wet and spongy that the carts damaged the fairways if driven over them. Drives plugged in these areas. Balls had to be moved to drier areas to get solid footing. Grass along the cart path was not cut and balls were easily lost. Overall, course management needs to be improved. No clubhouse or restaurant.
bherm125,
Thank you for playing Lakota. The course will green up and will be in great condition once we get some consistent sun and warmer temperatures. Please come see us in a few weeks. We have a brand new clubhouse and new management that will opening the restaurant and bar. We do offer a full bar and will have a much wider food selection within a few weeks.
