Lakota Links Golf Club
About
Situated just below the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the lower foothills of the Rockies, Lakota Links Golf Club has a scenic, secluded location that is surprisingly accessible to and from all of the ski areas of Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail, and Aspen. The location is also equipped with spectacular views from all around the course. Jim Engh designed the golf course, incorporating all of his trademarks including bowled fairways, cavernous bunkers, and receptive but tricky greens. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. Lakota Links Golf Club's final hole is one of the most demanding. This par-5 has a seemingly split fairway, a ravine, and a large area of rough.

Fathers & Sons
Unexpectedly, my son & I were joined by another father/son twosome and coincidently we were all originally from the same home town (St Louis) before moving to Colorado.. The friendly competition made for a better game and score for all.
Great layout and challenging course
Lakota Links was a great round. Staff were friendly and the course was in great shape. The greens had been punched probably 4-5 weeks ago and were rolling well. Pace of play was excellent and the staff were friendly.
I highly recommend this course.
Lakota is a fun course
The elevation changes are awesome. Some of the holes are very challenging. We played the twilight rates. Awsome deal. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely play it again.
Fun & challenging
Very good but tough course. Greens were fast and true - but very tough to read.
Fun to tee off from the elevated tee boxes.
Would definitely play again.
Great round on a beautiful day!
The course is amazing! Beautiful canyon course with elevations to match... Checkin with Jack, I know I’m misspelling his name, was quick and friendly, sorry! Very nice guy along with Robert, the buddy you always enjoy talking golf with... This course was getting ready for a charity tournament to support kids. We literally had the course to ourselves. A single in front we played in 3hrs:20mins and I did not play well. The par 3’s you need a caddie. The different elevations are tough, I did better on the back 9, but the damage had been done. We booked a return on Sunday after church. This time I wanted the course with some prayer on my side! Wife had a great round both days and we put this course on our list to play on the next visit to Colorado. We really don’t have courses like this in Florida.
Play and enjoy the view, I did!
Lakota is awesome!!
I love this course!!
Beautiful
Lots of elevation and hills, front 9 tough didn't know what to expect, got some good scoring on the back 9.
Worth the trip
Got 3 18's in with the all-you-can-play deal. What a day, great experience! Layout is great, lots of elevated tees. I love mountain courses and this is one of the best. Challenging but fair. Was worried about the conditions, but they seem to be coming around and greens were excellent. Will be back.
Hoping for a return to conditions of years ago
I played 36 holes with my son last Friday. I've always loved the design and the secluded front nine of this course. It's under new ownership and hopefully will recover from irrigation issues this season.
The strangest complaint I'd have is their COVID flag sticks. They have prongs at their base that knock several putts back out of the hole. Generally you can tell whether or not your ball would've stayed in the cup but not always. On the 6th hole my son hit the pin from 100 yds out. The ball settled by the hole but we couldn't tell if the prongs knocked it out? I gave him an eagle 2. Then on the next hole 183 yard blind par 3 he hit a perfect shot. When we got to the green we found his ball 18" right of the hole. We yelled to the group up on 8th tee box to see if it had hit the pin and they said it had curled around it. I gave him a birdie. He wanted an ace!
Those pins need to be set lower or replaced. Keystone simply uses a cut PVC pipe low in the holes with the old flags. Problem solved.
Great shape, restaurant totally closed
This has always been on my list as a number 1 or 2 of my favorite courses. Currently Online, you can get a tee time including cart for $52, which is an outstanding price!! The course as of Jun 16, 2020 is in great shape. If you go, bring your own water and food-- you cannot get food or drinks at the course.
Canyons & Elevate Tee boxes
Really enjoyed the round. Great golf. Will play here again and again!
