The Muir of Ord Golf Club

About
Architect James Braid originally designed a nine-hole golf course at Muir of Ord Golf Club, but it's since been extended to 18. Today Muir of Ord is a heathland course with snug fairways and difficult greens that demand accuracy.
The club is open to visitors, and the facility includes a bar and changing rooms. Clubs are available for rent.
For golfers looking to do a little warm-up before their round, there's a practice area and putting green.

Well worth playing
A very nice James Braid course. Lots of interesting holes in good condition. Small greens with run offs makes a seemingly simple hole challenging. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good selection of food available in clubhouse. Good views of local area.
Thoroughly enjoyable round of golf at Muir of Ord.
My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf at this James Braid course at Muir of Ord. The course was in great condition. The greens were quick and true. It is not the longest course, but there are some challenging holes and the heathland nature of the rough, albeit neatly trimmed, makes it important to keep the ball on the fairway. Everybody was friendly and the weather was fine, so what more could you want? It was excellent value for money at the ‘hot deal’ rate!
Absolute Gem of a Course!
First time we have played here. Very friendly staff, super course. We had a great time - thank you!
Great wee course
Muir of Ord plays like a links course but the trees give it a heathland feel. Although the start has a number of short part 4s - the course becomes more challenging in the middle of the round. For golfers of our vintage and handicap (60 year olds around 10 handicap standard) the mixture of par 4s allows a variety of approach shots from short irons to long hybrids. It was a cold day but surprisingly stayed dry with only light winds. The greens were a little slow but very true and good for this early stage of the season. Great fun to play and highly recommended.
Very Nice Indeed!
Definitely one to play if in the area...played in VERY persistent...but not pouring...rain...
The course handled everything we could throw at it...Tees/Fairways/Greens very
resistant to the water landing on it..and in lovely condition..had played previously
at same time of year in dry conditions..
No rough really...more Heathland...easy to find a yellow ball..
Staff and members very welcoming and friendly...we will make this a stop on
our tour next year also..
Thanks to All!
Beautiful day but take extra balls
We had a pleasant game but once off the fairway the chance of finding your ball is slim so take plenty of extras. We also had juniors jump in front of us for the last two holes as it was a Friday afternoon, slowing us up but understand the importance of making space for the young ones.
Lovely course - very enjoyable.
Tricky due to narrow fairways and hard ground but in great condition and very good greens. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
Spot on
Played the Gala open today. Great course with some tricky holes. Friendly staff and members. Couldn’t ask for more! Definitely recommend
Muir of Ord
Had a wonderful day, staff extremely helpful and friendly
Lovely Course
Random find on a business trip, lovely course, members and staff, will be back.
Unforgettable round
Even though rain spells three times during the round, we enjoyed playing in real scotch views of sunny. The course layout and the course conditions were good.
Hidden gem
This is a stunning course and well worth a go if you are in the area. Some fabulous views and the signature holes were good fun.
Staff in the clubhouse are very friendly and helpful and any locals were welcoming.
Slow Play Ruined It
The two guys in front of me had 3 chances to either let me join them or let me play through and didnt offer. There was nothing in front of them and took an absolute age on the tee. Ended up walking off after the 13th. Course was nice enough. Greens were good. lovely views.
Muir of Ord golf course
An open parkland course . Holes 10 to 14.are feature holes. Everyone made us feel very welcome including a gentleman in the clubhouse bar who had been a member for 50 years!
