Kings Golf Club

What a beautiful course with awesome layout of holes. It wasn’t that long either. Played from golds as a 29 handicap. Was difficult but amazing course. Would play here again. I don’t know why people rate the course bad when food was crappy I didn’t try food.

Kings GC is a relatively young course which is growing in stature. On a cold and windy day Kings was a real challenge. The greens had recently been top dressed (with a pungent odour) but had a fescue nature at USGA standard and putted fast and true - allowing genuine birdie opportunities. The course plays long and involves some elevation changes in the middle of the round with some excellent and challenging holes. The walk between some of the holes is significant and quite tiring on my old legs. Nevertheless a highly enjoyable round of golf and a course I would certainly recommend. We did get stuck behind some slow moving 4 balls for a few holes - but they skipped out the tougher holes around the turn and we still managed to get round in 3hrs 40 minutes.

The 3 of us had a great round on a Friday evening with sun splitting the sky. The layout of the course is top class, with challenging holes. Our only disappointment were the greens which were pitched for drainage which we were not warned about. This made the putting experience frustrating as it turned into a game of luck. But we hope to return again when the greens are at their best.

Greens a wee bit bare in places.

We played this course today and we were almost struck by golf balls on 4 separate occasions. The course is relatively new and does not have the mature trees that it needs to separate some fairways. There are a number of blind shots which are guarded by bells but this requires players to abide by the sounding of the bells and waiting until they are sounded. Some bells could be more distinctive. There are areas where teeing off players can be unsighted of players in hazardous locations if there’s a slice or a hook. The 3rd tee we thought needed safety netting behind it. The 14 tee represents a potential hazard for the 13 green easily solved by safety netting or some trees. The 8 and 15 almost share a fairway although in opposite directions with balls bouncing from the 8th to the 15th, and both sets of players are potentially unsighted of the others. All in all it was a nice course with lots of water hazards, good condition, service in the bar excellent and staff courteous. Food was tasty as well.

Very good lay out, greens are heavily sanded right now but if you are going you have to get some food…absolutely top notch!
