Pelham Bay at Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course

Booked a round but had a front delay which lead to a super slow Friday round which was unfortunate. Pehlam Bay course was very nicely kept and the greens were rolling fast and true. Just kept waiting and couldn't get into a nice flow. Will be going back earlier in the week to replay and try split rock.

Took the super deal, well worth it. Only grip is the scorecards are reprinted and cut up paper

There was lack of golf carts to start off. Then every single hole had a 25 minute wait because the overbook everytime. Wasted money and played 3 holes in 3 hours.

Paid for 18 holes with cart and watched everyone else drive their carts around despite being told no carts for the day. Only got through 9 bc i was denied a cart…

Played on a Friday afternoon and took 5.5 hours. Pulled up to the second tee box to find 5 groups on the hole and knew it was going to be a long round. 8 min tee times simply not enough for the number of recreational golfers the course sees.

Course itself is a fun and challenging layout and in good shape, especially for a New York muni. Price is relatively inexpensive and a good value. No driving range but would play again, especially during a less popular time

There were so many groups of people playing league.

My tee time was 1:57pm. Definitely I believed I could finish all 18 holes. I couldn’t finish two holes even I played until dark night. I got to wait every single hole about 5 to 10 minutes.

The golf course has great shape and well maintained.

I’m not coming back this course if time is late afternoon.

I used to come this course many times and used to have a good memory, but not anymore for me.

the course was wet, but it was in fair condition for the weather we are having.

the start was crowded but once we started the me moved without any issues.

This course has a reputation for slow rounds and with the pin placements on Saturday, I can now safely say it’s not only a golfer problem. There were no fewer than 4 holes where the pins we placed on edges of slopes/close to fringes, such that I can only imagine the person in charge was either doing it for the first time or was purposefully trying to sabotage pace of play at the course. It was almost like playing winter rules where once you get your ball on the green, you take 2 putts on the scorecard and move to the next hole. Unfortunately, I will probably look elsewhere next time if I can.
