Repair the tee boxes
The tee boxes are in terrible shape on some holes. This has been a long time concern with no improvements being made. The place could use some upkeep. The greens were in good shape other than the graffiti on 15.
Pace of play
Normal playing time for 4 golfers will be 4-4.5 hours.
Key concern is there is the team who did delay the game due to their lack of gentle play spirit
It doesn't matter whether they are experts or beginners. But they should keep i mind not to delay following team and expedite their play.
Also the ranger need to expedite delayed team which has been delaying play even if there is no team in front of them. They are the troubled team and shall be expedited or skip the hole as required and informed by golf club management.
Great New
For everyone who plays this course.... OMG they finally have refurbished golf carts!! Amazing. I have been complaining about the cart path pot holes and the golf carts for years!!! They have finally replaced their golf carts and repaired most of the potholes. I am optimistic that one day they will address those dreaded tee boxes.
I love the course and hopefully they will get it right. The staff should be more courteous, but that starts at the top. The golf pro is awesome and so are the starters, rangers, and club house cooks. As far as management.... It can definitely do better...
I know its the end of the season but....
I really like this course due to its unique layout and not too difficult hazards/yardage. However, the course is in poor condition, both fairways, greens and some tee boxes. And it is VERY difficult to walk with enormous distances between sets of holes.
Solid Course, Usual NYC pace
The course is solid and fun, the history of it is also cool. Typically for NYC tho , the pace can be horrible. 5-6 hour round.
Great NYC course
Enjoyed my round at Van Cortlandt. Overall, everything was really great. There were some slow players on the course, and the trees around the tee boxes seem to be stopping the sun getting in - resulting in the grass not growing very well. Otherwise it was fantastic!
