Marine Park Golf Course

Best public course in 5 boros. Excellent condition, extremely friendly staff, wonderful course conditions, and fairly priced.

Very happy. If you know the place it’s as good as can be right now. Greens fast and true (a little beat up at the end of summer but no issues). Snacks food and bar great for a takeout at halfway or out on the terrace after. Usual patches on fairways and waste areas but actually as good as I’ve seen it- more grass than ever. COVID set up is good - pre pay and go straight to the starter. I’ll be playing again before winter for sure 10/10

NYC golfers would say that an award for best-run NYC muni would be a 16-way tie for last. Marine Park has stepped up its game over the past few years and is in a class of its own.

Staff is friendly/quirky/fun/efficient. Your reserved tee time is the time you will be hitting the ball on the first tee. If you're going to see a ranger on any NYC course, it will be here.

If you are lucky you will get paired up with some old-timers who know the course like the backs of their hands. The clientele reflects the diversity of NYC more so than any course I've played.

This is a good course for walkers. It has been transformed from a flat, run-of the mill course, to a beautiful layout. Additional earth was sculpted into the course enhancing the original Robert Trent Jones design. New mounds and restored native fescues line many holes. A new white-sand waste bunker runs along the right side of the 3rd hole, replacing crabgrass, rocks, and broken glass. It appears that another similar area on the back-9 is being addressed.

Pace of play is good by NYC standards. The only downside is congestion on the Belt Parkway.

Awesome municipal golf experience in the city of New York. The course is a great linksy sort of layout and challenges are mostly due to raised greens on approaches and pretty.interesting undulating greens. The greens roll smooth even tho they look a little funky - nice speed. They could speed these up really fast for a tournament but nobody would be able tp play the course - challenging fun reads.

The facilities are far from luxurious but this is a public golf facility with priorities straight - the course is is highly playable quality condition. Super glad I played it again after a 15 year hiatus and I can't wait to go back now that i know the greens better

Most of the NYC courses are in terrible shape right now, but Marine Park is playing very nicely. The fairways have the occasional rough spot but are for the most part in good condition - there are many good lies to be had, both in the fairway and in the first cut. The greens are rolling firm but fair; if you leave yourself a downhill putt, you're in trouble but that's on you. Most of the sandtraps are in fair condition too, which isn't true of almost any other course in the city. I'd play it once a week if I could

I played this course when I was on the golf team at South Shore HS in Brooklyn, it was our home course. It was in poor condition then and nothing has changed. The greens were beaten up and the fairways were lacking grass

Marine Park is always in good shape with quick greens. Links style course (i.e. - little to no trees on most holes) so wind is a huge factor on many holes. They are continuing to work on the course but there isn’t much that impacts any holes directly, just dirt mounds for future fescue on the edges of some holes on the back 9. Bit of a trek but you can reach the course via the last stop on the 2 and/or 5 and the Q35 bus. Playing here a couple to times over the past few years and seeing the progress they are making on the course has been a real treat...just keeps getting better!

Greens designed by Robert Trent Jones. Links style course. Some construction on back 9 which will be great once complete. Great to play early on a weekday. I walked and played with 3 others .. done in under 4 hours. 6:50a tee time and ok to go early and hit the range in the dark (which was fun).

First round played in three years but conditions were decent considering COVID times. Late afternoon Friday round found the course packed. Nice to see people but course was backed up like it was a weekend round. Yes tee boxes were a bit beaten and greens were shaggy but the course is still playable. Actually not a bad job considering limited staff.

I’ve played here every week for the past few weeks. The course is seeing a reasonable amount of play. The grounds crew is keeping it in good condition. Best shape of any course in the area.

Local course doing a lot of alterations and making the course better and more of a challenge so done holes will be affected but the future looks bright well worth a visit especially for the fast greens .

Have played here many times. Pace of play was good(expect 4:30 to 4:45 round). Course is basically flat but long especially if you are not a long hitter, Lots of mounding earth with fescue if you stray off the fairway but most landing areas are generous. Greens are almost always in very good shape. Large and can be very fast from above the hole. Due to the restrictions currently from the virus there little interaction with staff and very little food and drink available,
