The Dunes At Maui Lani Golf Course

Staff was very friendly.....course was in great condition, especially the greens. Some interesting holes....used almost every club in the bag. Surprised by the elevation change on a couple of the holes. Course is going to be hosting the Maui open in august and will definitely will come back on my next visit to Maui.

The rating from the blues for women is 119. That seems very low. Probably hasn’t been rerated for a while. I’m a 20 handicap and play at a course rated 124 and this was much more penal (many pot bunkers, blind approach shots to small elevated greens).

Good points:

Greens were fast

We played in 3.5 hours

Took 5 hours to play. Waited on almost every hole. Traps had no sand so impossible to get out. Rest of course in good shape. Layout is interesting and challenging.

Loved the layout of this course. Every hole was quite different , and there were plenty of blind shots to keep you thinking. The wind payed a significant role in club selection and direction of your shot.

Beautiful day for golf. Lots of hills, some very steep. The greens and fairways were in great shape. As a red tee golfer I appreciated the the benefits for the par 5 holes. We had a great pace of play.

Lost due to the pandemic . Otherwise if you bring your own Beer it was a fun course to play !

I played solo in morning, went fast. Not sure situation with club house For Lease sign, but the cart worked and the groundskeeping was absolutely perfect. Best kept greens of the 4 courses I played in Maui. Would have played twice if I had more time. Not many views and lots of narrow looking tee shots, but it's a great, hilly, interesting course.

The course is in amazing condition. The greens are firm and fast, but roll true. The staff are friendly and helpful and provided service with a smile. Thanks for a great afternoon of golf.

I enjoyed the course but felt rate I paid was about $20 too high. Quit a few courses on mainland that are nicer for less.

The staff was not service oriented. We rented club which were dirty and in poor shape. The clubs were mixed between stiff and regular.

There was no friendly greeting or help with putting the bags on the cart. The cart was almost dangerous to drive. Brakes were almost gone and the clutch was on its final leg.
