About
Old Hickory Country Club in Beaver Dam is situated on land that was used simply as pasture for grazing cattle and sheep before it was transformed into a basic, but interesting nine-hole golf course by Scottish designer Tom Bendelow. Seeing the potential of the terrain, the course was later expanded into 18 holes by Robert Greaves. The golf course originally opened for play in 1920, which has given it plenty of time to mature into the challenging course it is today. Towering oak and hickory trees line the fairways and there are 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout the golf course, most heavily along the greensides. The gently rolling terrain provides subtle but tricky contours. Long, straight drives will be generously rewarded at Old Hickory Country Club, and accuracy is also essential for doing well.

Challenging course.
From front to back sloping greens. Narrow lanes for you tee shots and doglegs on the shorter par 4s that force you to take chances or layup. It's a fun course to play. Will definitely go back!
Off the beaten path
Challenging layout. Multiple blind shots and elevated greens. Super fun to play!

Hidden Gem
Beautiful course. Great value. GPS Carts and bottled water on the course!!! I travel 45 minutes to play this course.

Course great - carts ok
Course in great condition for early season. Riding cart set up so information screen was showing pop-ups for advertisements and reminders to fix divots multiple times per hole. It was more hassle than informative.
Great course
So many great holes. Green were fast and rolled fast. GPS on the cart was very helpfull. Some tight driving holes left the driver in the bag on half the holes. Can't wait to play it again.
Not Worth 2hour drive to play if not feel hospitality at check in
Can't feel welcome if delay to give cart just because of too early to tee time. I have to Cary bag everywhere from range to chipping to putting...
Course was in great shape and staff were great also
