About
Old Hickory Country Club in Beaver Dam is situated on land that was used simply as pasture for grazing cattle and sheep before it was transformed into a basic, but interesting nine-hole golf course by Scottish designer Tom Bendelow. Seeing the potential of the terrain, the course was later expanded into 18 holes by Robert Greaves. The golf course originally opened for play in 1920, which has given it plenty of time to mature into the challenging course it is today. Towering oak and hickory trees line the fairways and there are 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout the golf course, most heavily along the greensides. The gently rolling terrain provides subtle but tricky contours. Long, straight drives will be generously rewarded at Old Hickory Country Club, and accuracy is also essential for doing well.

Great course as usual
Fantastic course as usual, friendly staff all around. That goes for proshop, bar, and bev cart lady.
Most underrated course in the area
old growth trees line most fairways, smaller greens that roll great and are consistent.
The track can be long if you play the wrong set of tees, from the most forward tees even a beginner can have a lot of fun.
Finally got 18 in after work
What a night, had a 510 tee time showed up around 440ish chipped & putted for 15 mins then was able to go out asap! The gentleman working the counter at the pro shop is a great guy! Beauitful course & playing the whites or the blues will have you using every club in your bag. Didn't wait on a group one time, everyone I seen at the course was friendly
Great grounds men!
I love this place. Fun layout, nice folks.
The clubhouse bar is busy with events often, but how can I complained I am usually one of the last ones out there as I often play twilight.
Amazing greens
Have flavored Old Hickory, a number of times this summer and find it to be an amazing. We will kept course and super fun.

Always a Major Challenge
Outstanding Top Tier course with fantastic conditions and exceptional layout.
Fun, good mix
Good mix of long and shorter holes. Some interesting holes. Nice peaceful middle of nowhere setting. Most holes make it possible to find your ball on errant shots Quite a few holes with blind shots. Carts have included built in GPS, which is nice; but they have it set up so slow the cart down to pretty much a standstill when their geofencing says you’re in an area you shouldn’t be (too close to the green, beyond no cart areas, etc)… makes it hard to get back to the ok areas, and also was far to restrictive. This unfortunate feature kicked in many times when I wasn’t within 10 yards of the marked areas to avoid.
Don't waste your money
Course pro said the need to review the Golf Now "thing". Blamed the busyness on too mich business! Condescending and totally unfriendly pro/manager. Course conditions sucked as most of the course was burned and not in nice shape. Goofy ancient layout not appealing to the eye. Pace of played sucked also. Will never go back!
