Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Great course, very challenging.
Very challenging course but the course ranger very impolite!!! Keep on asking us why we play black tee!!!! The course itself didn't mention armature can't play it!
In bad shape right now.
I wouldn't play here for a few weeks. Greens haven't come back from aeration and course in really bad shape.
Uneven fairways
The fairways need a lot of attention. Divots and grass not growing. There are also tightly mowed. Also all golf courses should list when they aerate. For the price I paid 35 it was ok but not worth 59 at regular rate.
Great Course layout and challenges.
Course in great shape except greens just aerated. Played in under 4 hours.
lousy conditions/ too expensive
Played course many times during week without any problems. Saturday's round took 5 hrs 15 mins and I teed off at 10:00am with NO ONE behind me. Immediately, there was a back up at the 2nd hole . Starter should abide by every 10 mins before letting the next tee time out when course is NOT crowded---everyone was allowed to tee off as soon as they were ready---this is what caused the back up right away. Everyone was right on top of the next group . A foursome hung up the entire round for all holes. I was part of a 3some and we were not moving fast at all---had a beginner in our group . I will never play there again at $80 for a Saturday. The course on its BEST day is not worth that money .Fairwauys are beat up and some greens are brown in spots
Course needs TLC
Tried to make a reservation as a single and you can't at all here. Staff was very friendly driving range and putting green are very good. The course on the other hand needs a lot of attention, tee boxes were in good condition fairways have a lot of divots, bunkers have very little sand and many stones in them. The greens have many ball marks that are not repaired, which is unfortunate because they are faster then most. And they have signs and the starter reminds everybody to replace divots and repair ball mark on the greens. I did enjoy the layout very much with a good combination of long and short holes, there are 4 sets of tees to chose from also.
Nice layout
Too many holes roped off from cart access ,back and forth walking acros s the fairways.
The cart loading procedure is not practical. They load your clubs, then take them around to the lower area. You have to then walk down a steep staircase and drive the cart up to the driving range area where the starter holds you until the 1 st is clear. The putting green is in the front of clubhouse . I had to walk down to retrieve my putter, then walk back and around to use the putting green.
The course overall is a nice layout, but the roped off fairways slows the pace of play.
QUIRKY GOLF COURSE NEEDS TLC
This was my first and last time playing this course. It is commonly heard that there are courses that fit the eye of the player but when an entire foursome finds a course overly gimmicky there maybe an issue with architecture. Course has numerous sharp doglegs some left and some right. Moreover there are two driveable par 4s in the first nine holes measuring 274 and 300 yds from thees. Many holes are tree lined and narrow and areas around them are bare. Some maintenance issues as well. Pond area in the 11th fairway was overgrown and bunker on 10 was ground under repair. The place marked half way house was closed and appeared to be a community room for the incorporated planned development. Routing was awful with long rides past other tees to the tee. Lastly. portions of the fairway and rough were burnt from the recent heat wave.
All in all, I would suggest redo by a skilled architect especially on the front nine. Also a careful eye toward maintenance is imperative as you should never have weedy areas in play. In close, I would advise that this course is not worth it especially given that here are better caliber courses in the area.
Great course with huge greens
This course will put every shot you have in the bag to the test. Has long and short par 4, dog leg left and right and very large greens. Would be a 5 star but the shorter par 4 seems to be cart path only which has tons of unfilled divots. I don't think players bring the fill bottles with them so the course should fill the divots in daily themselves. Greens are in pretty good shape and average speed
PINE RIDGE GREAT COURSE
Enjoyed or round of golf at Pine Ridge 7/09/2013 with the Golf
Now .com reservation and fee The staff was very Professionally from starter to ranger during our play. Greens were up to par and faster then most other public courses. Fairways and tees are in good shape considering the amout of play this year. This course requires all the clubs in your bag.We played blue tees which are just right for us, BLACK tees this course is all one could want with many par 4's 400 yards plus up to 494 yds. Will be back again soon for many more great rounds here.
This course starts out easy then gets tough especially 11 to 15 ... Then it lightens up
I like Pineridge ... It is usually in good shape and a good value....lots of interesting holes and well placed bunkers... The greens are usually quick
Lovely Place, Not a Great Course
I enjoyed the facilities and the staff was nice. They have a grass driving range and a large putting chipping area. The bar and grill is a great place to hang out. The pro shop has demo clubs and although small has a lot of stuff.
Thew course, however, was too tricky. It was full of severe dog legs which threatened to punish a good drive but which could easily block out your approach. It was often impossible to figure the hole out from the tee. There were too many hidden hazards and the greens were unreadable. I suspect the course was shoehorned into limited space. When you are on the green of the first hole errant driving range balls periodically drop like bombs nearby - it is actually kind of dangerous. The conditions were good to very good. Perhaps if you were a member and played here all the time you would get familiar with all the tricks, but I prefer a course that does no punish me for being a guest. They should give out course books or install those video diagram systems on the carts. It would speed up play too.
The course was well maintained and great scenic views.
We played the round in four hours. I thought it was longer, because two of the fellas we played with were very inexperienced.
They were considerate and picked up regularly to move play along. Kudos to those two fine gents.
Course is not being looked after
I was disappointed to find that this course is not being taken care of. The greens were in poor conditions as was the general upkeep of the fairways, bunkers and rough
Good
Rough around the greens were patchy and not grown out
Winter Play
Have only played this course during winter months. My first experience was not a very good one as the course smelled like sewage and the fairways were very beat up. My second round there was much more enjoyable and considering the time of year the greens were in very good shape! Good course for a beginner golfer or one who needs a confidence boost.
A very nice ciurse.
The corse was challenging and very well maintained.
SO SO
It was nomal condition of golf course. The good thing was "not crowd" due to cold weather.
But bad experience of GolfNow.
I was double paid. The first payment was failed due to Type of Credit Card (I mistakenly didn't change "American Express Card", but it was billed after Error Message.) And the green fee was $50 per player at that time reservation, but I found $45 when I arrived at golf course. It was unfair that early reservation player paid more.
The course has very nice faiways with good greens
Played this course in the afternoon with a great greens fee rate, the fairways were in great shape but the greens had some sand due to aeration. Still a good course to play when the price is right.
