Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Great Day
Previous play at this course was VERY long, but yesterday, there was no wait and no backups! We teed off at 10:45 and were back in our car by 3:10!
Course was is good shape ... greens were true and somewhat fast (due to bright sun and dry weather). Course fairways were fresh and the rough was thick.
Challenging course for newbies like myself but there were enough rewards to make the day enjoyable!
Course is generally a little expensive so we took advantage of a GolfNow special which made it worthwhile.
Great course
Great staff along with great course conditions , would reco this course to anyone
Nice day out
Great Staff , very friendly and helpful
Nice course , good condition
Great Course
Thank you! I had a wonderful time. I will be back soon!! keep up the great work.
Not advised the course was aerated.
I've played the course before and it is always a good challenging course, combining course management with length. I was very disappointed not being told the course was aerated and very poorly overdressed. The aeration holes were like putting on a peg board.
Will definitely play again
First time playing this course. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, from the kid in the pro shop to the guy with the carts. The starter was very good and the ranger was a nice guy. Couldn't ask for more in that aspect. Fairways were beautiful. Greens were being aerrated but they were still able to putt on. All in all a very good experience. Going to go back once the greens are complete.
Horrible experince
Carts were slow and had no brakes
Teeboxs had hig grass
Fairways were destroyed if you hit on the fairway it was in a divet or some sand hole
Sand traps were just areas that grass was ripped up off
Round was long, un pleasent and i would tell anyone to spend there money else whete
windy day and greens recently aerated
course layout is good. hole configuration was fair. wish I would have known about greens being recently aerated. putting was a waste of time. otherwise, will try course again as I liked the features of the course.
Good track and reasonable rates
This is a fun golf course and for a 14 handicap challenging enough. That being said I feel it is the courses duty to tell you that the greens have been punched and are not rolling properly. You charged a full rate for the course when only 2/3 of the course was in play. The staff is always of good cheer and the lounge is a friendly place for food and drink. I will definitely play it again when the greens have healed and the course i9s up to snuff.I placed an overall rating at average and will upgrade that when the greens are fixed to a good overall rating.
This course has great shape.
It was a great monent to play with family. It was very narrow fairway and had to stay on the fairway to keep good score. If my shot was hooked or sliced, I didn't get good score. Here is tip for you. If you want to play this course, you have to stay fairway and to hit long dive shot. Good luck!
Very friendly staff, nice course to play
Staff was extremely friendly & helpful.
We played in Mid November so they were a lot of leaves which made it hard to locate the ball. I think that they could have been more diligent in their efforts to remove a lot of the leaves in order for us to play more enjoyably. Course is a bit narrow on some holes. Greens were very fast and difficult to read. The club house , bar and restaurant looks like it is a great place to eat & relax during the season.
Great course, very challenging.
Very challenging course but the course ranger very impolite!!! Keep on asking us why we play black tee!!!! The course itself didn't mention armature can't play it!
In bad shape right now.
I wouldn't play here for a few weeks. Greens haven't come back from aeration and course in really bad shape.
Uneven fairways
The fairways need a lot of attention. Divots and grass not growing. There are also tightly mowed. Also all golf courses should list when they aerate. For the price I paid 35 it was ok but not worth 59 at regular rate.
Great Course layout and challenges.
Course in great shape except greens just aerated. Played in under 4 hours.
lousy conditions/ too expensive
Played course many times during week without any problems. Saturday's round took 5 hrs 15 mins and I teed off at 10:00am with NO ONE behind me. Immediately, there was a back up at the 2nd hole . Starter should abide by every 10 mins before letting the next tee time out when course is NOT crowded---everyone was allowed to tee off as soon as they were ready---this is what caused the back up right away. Everyone was right on top of the next group . A foursome hung up the entire round for all holes. I was part of a 3some and we were not moving fast at all---had a beginner in our group . I will never play there again at $80 for a Saturday. The course on its BEST day is not worth that money .Fairwauys are beat up and some greens are brown in spots
Course needs TLC
Tried to make a reservation as a single and you can't at all here. Staff was very friendly driving range and putting green are very good. The course on the other hand needs a lot of attention, tee boxes were in good condition fairways have a lot of divots, bunkers have very little sand and many stones in them. The greens have many ball marks that are not repaired, which is unfortunate because they are faster then most. And they have signs and the starter reminds everybody to replace divots and repair ball mark on the greens. I did enjoy the layout very much with a good combination of long and short holes, there are 4 sets of tees to chose from also.
Nice layout
Too many holes roped off from cart access ,back and forth walking acros s the fairways.
The cart loading procedure is not practical. They load your clubs, then take them around to the lower area. You have to then walk down a steep staircase and drive the cart up to the driving range area where the starter holds you until the 1 st is clear. The putting green is in the front of clubhouse . I had to walk down to retrieve my putter, then walk back and around to use the putting green.
The course overall is a nice layout, but the roped off fairways slows the pace of play.
QUIRKY GOLF COURSE NEEDS TLC
This was my first and last time playing this course. It is commonly heard that there are courses that fit the eye of the player but when an entire foursome finds a course overly gimmicky there maybe an issue with architecture. Course has numerous sharp doglegs some left and some right. Moreover there are two driveable par 4s in the first nine holes measuring 274 and 300 yds from thees. Many holes are tree lined and narrow and areas around them are bare. Some maintenance issues as well. Pond area in the 11th fairway was overgrown and bunker on 10 was ground under repair. The place marked half way house was closed and appeared to be a community room for the incorporated planned development. Routing was awful with long rides past other tees to the tee. Lastly. portions of the fairway and rough were burnt from the recent heat wave.
All in all, I would suggest redo by a skilled architect especially on the front nine. Also a careful eye toward maintenance is imperative as you should never have weedy areas in play. In close, I would advise that this course is not worth it especially given that here are better caliber courses in the area.
Great course with huge greens
This course will put every shot you have in the bag to the test. Has long and short par 4, dog leg left and right and very large greens. Would be a 5 star but the shorter par 4 seems to be cart path only which has tons of unfilled divots. I don't think players bring the fill bottles with them so the course should fill the divots in daily themselves. Greens are in pretty good shape and average speed
