East/North at Evergreen Golf Club

About
Located just north of Lake Geneva, Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn offers 27 holes of championship golf that have earned the club a reputation as one of the state's premier golfing destinations. The nines, East, South and North, are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The East/North begins with the shortest of the three nines though it is still just as challenging. Water comes into play often throughout this combination of nines, notably on the final hole of the East nine. Golfers will need a straight, well struck drive on this par 4 that will get you far along enough for a good view of your second shot, which you'll need since there is water in play on the left and a bevy of bunkers to the right.

Very congenial staff.
Play on first nine was slow and a staff person, Sandy, suggested we could play holes out of order which allowed us to finish nine much more quickly. She checked back with us to see how we enjoyed the round. Very nice course and very good people.
Lakes Area's Hidden Gem
Evergreen is a fantastic track. Played all 27 holes and were wowed by the playing conditions for the price. With all the other Lakes Area Courses being $100+, Evergreen excels in the price for conditions bracket. Can get on for significantly cheaper than nearby courses and conditions rival those of much more expensive tee times. Definitely worth a drive, even if just visiting Lake Geneva from Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, etc!
Fantastic fun. Especially check out their scrambles!
Aggressive staff made our group feel unwelcome and uncomfortable
Booked an early tee time for two and was paired with another twosome which was understandable. None of us were turning down invitations to the tour, but we were all average golfers. A twosome started behind us and predictably we were asked to let them pass on the fourth hole, but that cost is ~15 minutes waiting for them to play through. Rangers were HOUNDING us the entire rest of the day and that didn't make us play any faster to say the least. At the turn the starter kindly reminded me we were 25 minutes behind his schedule and sent us to wait 30 minutes to start on our back nine behind three other groups that were queued up to start on the east course.
Won't be playing here again. Very unenjoyable experience and very expensive.
Evergreen Golf Club is a must play
Course was in outstanding shape for early august. Green are great. Fairways are like carpet. We were there a day and time where there was not much play and we flew around as a foursome. They have senior discounts as well. Must play if you havent and are in the area.
Not What I Expected!
I decided to try this course based on all the good reviews and it was a mistake. I played on a Sunday and the pace of play was absolutely brutal! Almost a 5 1/2 hour round. The course conditions were not good. Most all the tee boxes were "turtle backs" and very beat up (White Tees) and the 7th green on the East Course was almost unplayable. It should be blown up and replaced! Also, they don't have a driving range. Needless to say I won't ever go back.
Wonderful Wisconsin course
Played the North-South courses from the combo tees. Was a single matched up with three congenial gents from the Racine area. Nice guys. Great fairways and quick greens — a welcome change from the tight Bermuda lies I have in Florida. Pace was a little slow because of group in front of us. Ranger sped them up though so we finished a few minutes over four hours. Would play here again if back in the area.
Great Course spectacular conditions
This course is always in exceptional condition and pace of play is on point.
Second time here
Our group really likes this course. Good layout, we like the dog legs which are very playable. Poor tee boxes resulted in the four star rating instead of five. They're not the best.
Greens are great??? Did you play the East Course? Hole #7's green needs replacement! Also, the tee boxes were not in "outstanding shape". Far from it!
