Palmer at Geneva National Golf Club

About
The Palmer Course is just one of three championship courses at Geneva National Golf Club. The other two boast well known designers as well: Gary Player and Lee Trevino. All of the courses were carved from the lush countryside along the banks of Lake Como, the sprawling club is the second largest golf facility in Wisconsin. The Palmer Course is the most challenging of the three but the Player Course comes in at a close second. There is less water one this course but it still has a prominent presence throughout. The golf course begins with a tricky water hole, a par 3 that is crossed two by a meandering stream. The 17th is also memorable since it plays right along the lake. There are a few homes lining some of the fairways but they do not distract from the stunning scenery throughout the golf course.

Another Great Round at the Palmer Course
Three friends and I teed it up early (at 6:54am) and finished in 4 hours on the dot. Course was wet from rain overnight, but only had to stay on the cart path on a few holes. The greens were spectacular (as was the rest of the course). Really like the changes they made to hole 1 and hole 2. The green complexes are way better. The staff is great. We had lunch at the bar, Kiara was our waitress and did a wonderful job. The food was very good. Love Geneva National.
Palmer 8/9/2025
Great course overall. Challenging! Greens a bit hard. Not much water play.
Great service, nice course.
After playung the Trevino course, I was impressed with the service and the course. So, much so, we decide to come back again and try the Palmer course, once again the service was outsanding and couse was in great shape. The only negative was the threesome playing front my group was so slow, it was a crime on a hot and humid day.
They where hitting from 3 different tees, where one was sending scuds out of bounds and other 2 maxed at 100 yards, then they would look for the scud and the return for the closest ball. This caused almost a 5 hour round for no reason.
Amazing course
Awesome course, honestly one of the best I’ve played at. Great amenities including range balls. Staff was friendly and food was great. Speed of play was a bit slow but that is not the course’s fault. Recommend 10/10
Lives up to the hype
Excellent layout, near pristine conditions. Greens were difficult yet navigable. All in good to great conditions minus the amateurs hours not repairing pitch marks. Fairways were well kept except for a few collection areas where divots weren’t replaced or sanded by the amateur hours. Would have helped playing with some one who knew the course a bit better because just because you have a great drive down the open side of the fairway does not mean you will have any sort of approach shot. Solid amount of undulating fairways which truly determine your second or even third shots. Most sand traps were large and demanding of a pitch out. They add to the beauty of the course and yes there are a lot of them. Only turf concerns are some roughs had a weird fungus but honestly it didn’t effect lie or shot making. 17th green along lake Como drew a crowd of kayakers and canoes who actually cheered our approach shots which was pretty neat. It must be odd reading that because I’m a pretty big deal and all.
Great track, great price on a Sunday morning, finished our round in 3.5hrs no pressure no wait. Looking forward to playing the Trevino and Player courses in the coming months.
Free driving range balls. Practice green was a little strange but it is a possibility we didn’t see all of them. Great swag in the pro shop it was really early so not much to report on staff outside the fact that no one drove our bags to the car and we weren’t allowed to take our cart.
Quality golf in lake geneva
The staff could not have been friendlier, inviting, it was a wonderful time.
Hard as a rock
The green’s where hard as a rock.you could not shot at the pins or the ball would roll off .the staff was great they went around offering cold towels it was hot out.
Great condition
The course was in great condition. Greens were tough.
