Washington County Golf Course

I’ve been playing this golf course since it’s been open and trust me on this it’s in the best shape I’ve ever seen It since it’s been open. If you get a chance before the snow flies get your clubs and get on out there you won’t be disappointed.

gorgeous fall day in the mid 60''s and sunny. with a nice breeze, it made the course a lot of fun. got paired up with two young guys from Milwaukee that bombed their drives 300 yards. I popped in a few long putts on greens that ran true. A very nice afternoon!

Definitely lived up to its reputation. Washington County is >7000 yds from the tips, but it's pretty wide-open, so swinging away with driver is an absolute blast. The greens were larger and more undulating than I'm accustomed to which made for a fun challenge as well. Each hole was unique and entertaining to play. The grass was in good shape. I would definitely recommend if you can find a Hot Deal.

Same ground as Erin Hills but with more history,very affordable, and you can walk or ride... no caddy necessary. Greens were smooth and fast, despite being disrespected by public course golfers. Many tee options, but they should have a gold/white combo option.

This course never fails. It is very nice all the way around.

Course was in perfect shape. Greens were true. I’ll be back!

A very warm day on the links when the ball flew well and wind was a big factor. Joined up with a father and son and had a very enjoyable round finally playing well after a bit of a slump!

There's nothing like having your expectations exceeded. I was glad that that was the case on my recent round at Washington County, which I came in thinking would be a decent-enough Middle America muni.

It's better than that. The first tee grants a sweeping view of the entire property, and you can even see the Holy Hill monastery in the distance. This is also the case at the nearby and much more famous Erin Hills (EH caddies will come to Washington County to play money games).

Both nines at WaCo head down through generous corridors past waving tan fescue that provides good visual definition to every full shot, before climbing back up to the clubhouse. The fact that both nines' first three holes parallel each other is a bit of a routing flaw, but there is enough variety in the rest of the design to make this easy to look past. The greens in particular stood out to me - they're not flamboyant, but most of them are interesting enough - via tilt, interesting shape and the odd complicating feature - to keep a keen golfer's interest. The course is as well-maintained as any muni you'll ever see, and the people are nice. A visiting golfer to this part of the world would enjoy a stop here, especially as a second round of the day, in carts, with beers, after a morning round at Erin Hills.

Why do you always show tee times for this place for $28 but there are never any tee times?

They do a great job here. The property is huge. The course is very playable and fair. The greens are tricky. They fooled us a few times but I like that. Course knowledge would be a help but the carts have GPS and bluetooth so that is really cool. The clubhouse seemed a little tired and the restrooms could use a refresh. I only say that because the course is like a country club and the interior of the clubhouse was like a public venue which it is but I just expected more. Great practice facility too. The golf course is a must play if you live in Wisconsin or plan on being here.
