Washington County Golf Course
About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

Good public course for all players
It's still early but some of the tee boxes, fairways and greens weren't in mid-season form yet. But the layout is very nice - no bad holes - and it's an open course that you can score on. Back nine is a little easier. The wind is the defense for WCGC. Definitely worth playing.
Washington County Golf Course
The Good: Extremely well-maintained municipal course about 30 miles northwest of Milwaukee. Arthur Hills track is primarily devoid of water and trees, but still an interesting layout that has a little Scotland in it. Beautiful fairways and challenging, slick green complexes. Good variety in Par 4's and Par 5's, particularly on the front nine. Superb practice facility for a public course and decent on-and-off course amenities. Staff is nice enough. Very good value, especially twilight and off-season rates.
The Bad No GPS on carts. Not much of an upscale service feel. Limited variety in the Par 3's and Par 5's on the closing nine. In-season pricing is steadily rising.
The Verdict: Washington County is one of the better courses in the greater Milwaukee area. While nothing that will make you say "wow", but a fun course that is fair for all levels of play. Super conditions.
Best Hole: The Par 5 7th is a great hole that requires a drive that avoids water and an approach that must cross a creek to a thin green.

A test in tough wind
Price: Booked 9 holes and a cart for $21.
Staff: Front desk guys were great, allowed me to have my buddy ride along with me even though he wasn't playing. Great service, friendly, accomodating. Will definitely be back.
Golf: 40 mph winds. I saw a chip hooks about 3 yards. A chip. Still had a blast. Late October and the greens / fairways were still is excellent shape. Top notch public golf at WaCo.
Review
The course was great at $36.00 always enjoy the course but during prime season it is to costly.
best value around the area
The course condition is very steady. This course never disappoints me.
Pace of Play.
My only problem with this course is that they do not have a ranger that would go around and speed up the pace of place. Spent quite a lot of time waiting. It was my first time to hear that a twosome let a foursome play through.
Always Entertaining
Only problem was the pace of play on the second nine. It was caused by a tournament that was being played.
Great Course
Played first thing on a Sunday morning. Course was in very good shape. Greens run true. Fair pin placements. Very good challenge. Enjoyed the round. Will play again.
Absolutely Amazing!
Wow, what a great course and do they ever keep this placde in prestine condition. Layout and conditions were amazing - Great job to the staff at WC - you can tell they take pride in this course!
Thanks Golfnow for the value created in playing this gem!
Amazing Course- A+
Wow - what a course. The layout, the upkeep, the scenery. A+ -> well done WA County!
Fantastic Greens!!
The course was outstanding. We played early in the morning and had to putt on a couple greens before they were mowed but they still rolled like you were playing on a pool table. I have played seventeen different courses this summer and this course was right up there with Hawks View in Lake Geneva as far as how true the greens rolled. I can't wait to get back up there again! Super deal through golfnow.com!
Excellent Practice Facilities
This is one of my favorite courses to spend sometime working on my game on the practice facilities and then test it out on a very nice course. For a small fee the practice facilities includes driving range, chipping green w/ sand, putting green and 3 complete warm up holes (2 short Par 4s and a Par 3) . I played Saturday 8-9 as a single via a great deal on GOLFNOW and was pair up with a 2-some (also GOLFNOW). It was a late afternoon round so pace of play was excellent. the course was in really good condition overall - greens were nice and fast and were very true. we played from the whites which might be a bit too short for my drives 275ish as I was hitting a lob wedge into most par 4s - but with fast greens and plenty of trouble close to most greens it still made for a challenging round. overall a great course, in fact I have already booked another round via GOLFNOW for this afternoon (Sunday 8-10)
Always
Course again was in great shape. Greens at medium to fast and ver smooth. First time I've played this course on calm day which helped the score. Can't say enough about this course.
Greens a little slow
For a 7:06 t time greens were slow and bumpy. Only gripe that day. Otherwise great day on a great course.
Great course... Got an excellent deal
Tip of the day... If you hit it deep in the tall grass, take an unplayable lie and a drop, you're not advancing the ball more than a few feet...
Loved this course because for the most part I hit it straight that day. When I hit it in the long stuff though... My LORD was it tough.
Would play here any day of the week. Loved it.
GREAT COURSE
The course was in perfect condition. First cut off fairways are very playable for average golfer. Greens are smooth and not extremly fast.
Possibly the best muni in Wisconsin
Many golfers in the Milwaukee area know about this place, but those coming from other parts of the country to play Erin Hills and Whistling Straits may not be aware that the best municipal in the state of Wisconsin is just minutes away from Erin Hills. And, of course, it's a lot cheaper to play. It's also a good bit easier, though it's still a good test, especially in the wind. Architect Arthur Hills isn't known for designing forgiving courses, but this one has wide fairways and opportunities to get up and down when missing greens.
Phenomenal course
This is phenomenal course. I have been trying to play it all year, and finally got a chance too. Thanks
A must play
This course always delivers great conditions and an enjoyable round.
