Dunskey Course at Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club

My wife & I had a very enjoyable round in excellent conditions, prior to teeing off a lady member (who we later found out was the multiple Club Ladies Champion) gave my wife advice on playing the course which was nice & appreciated. We played at 8:15am to avoid the forecasted afternoon rain & with nobody in front of us we finished in 3 hours.

The Staff in the Clubhouse were friendly & helpful and everything reasonably priced, all in all we would definitely recommend and will hopefully play again ourselves.

Played the course with my wife and really enjoyed it. Was in great condition with great greens and I would say a very fair test of golf. We had a little wind which showed that if it was stronger it would make it a real challenge. Greens were in good condition and good to putt on.

Course was in excellent condition. Nice layout and fantastic views. £60 for visitor fees however I got it for £34 on GolfNow so would definitely check here before paying full price.

We found the staff in both the pro shop and club house very friendly. Course was in excellent condition only slight complaint was difficulty in finding some tee boxes

Big party out before me so was a long round.

Views to take in from all directions, rough keept low so was easy finding balls.

For January the course was in great condition, we came off the course as clean as we went on, really enjoyed the day.

Didn't know what to expect but course was really well maintained, club staff were really helpful and friendly. Undulating course with many blind shots. Fairways and first cut Rough was great but tall rough (fescue) was tough. Shot placement over distance requires.

Want to play again.

Following a morning of rain I was unsure ehow the course would be but was really surprised how good the course was. Greens were really good, tee boxes were well maintained. Challenging. Overall will play again without doubt

Perfectly maintained course, neat tees, clear fairways and challenging greens.

This course was certainly the most well-kept course of our golf holiday in the southwest of Scotland. This is in no way intended to devalue the other places, but it must be mentioned in fairness.

In strong winds, and especially when the course is being played for the first time, it demands everything. It's not for nothing that we had the worst holiday score.

To be able to play the course well tactically, you first have to play it a few times.

Here the good players get their money's worth and are challenged and also very rewarded if they hit good shots. The signature hole for me is hole 14, a par 4 with 285 yards and an elevation gain of ?40 yards? With a view of the coast and the wind from there. The three of us played up to the bunker 20 yards in front of the green and still only got 1 x par. The green hangs against the coast in such a way that the chip or putt must under no circumstances be played too hard, otherwise the ball will go over the green into the green the bunker behind it rolls. Have fun!

Really lovely course on the south west coast. Not long but very tricky with lots of blind shots on the front and very small greens. Stunning views at the end of the front 9 and the start of the back. We didn’t have the best weather unfortunately but on a sunny day it would have been breathtaking. Will 100% be back to play here again, with a course planner next time!!

Maybe relatively short but when the wind blows it’s a good challenge especially with some of the roller coaster greens. Will definitely be back

Exceptional golf club and course - weather was amazing which certainly helped the quality of golf played and in the scoring.

The course was in exceptional condition and the greens were very quick, but true and in amazing condition. I love this golf course - its a real challenge but is forgiving (in places) - a few holes have blind shots but there are some spectacular holes (and views) especially the signature 13th!

Hospitality was fantastic - the patrons and staff were warm and friendly and the food was of high quality.

A must play course if you are in the area - stunning!!

The course was in good condition for the winter. The wind made it challenging and a lot of blind shots. Sight markers were a great help as was the golf pros tips on the website for each hole. The only negative was the lack of signage made it tricky navigate as there were no tee box numbers on the main tees or the winter tees. We went off course a couple of times trying to figure out where was next and because it was quiet there was no-one to follow. I would play it again and imagine it would be very tricky in the summer when the rough grows up.

The fairways were amazingly good for the middle of winter. The wind added to the interest making some holes pretty hard! There are no 150 yard markers on the course so good to have a watch for your yardages. Excellent value for winter rates.

Course is in great condition, some wonderful holes with great views. What i didn't like is so many blind holes. Thats just a personal thing

Lovely day at Portpatrick and a nice round of golf on a challenging course. Bit disappointing that the greens were being treated on the day we were playing. Fairways were in excellent condition - lovely for fairway woods (required on the long holes). Rattled round in just over 3 hours. 14th was my favourite hole - gorgeous.

Couldn’t fault the whole experience of playing Dunskey. Great value for money and excellent hospitality. Will definitely recommend and return to play.
