Dunskey Course at Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club
About
Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club offers an undulating links-type layout, which is a challenge to all levels of golfers, especially when the fierce wind blows from across the Irish Sea. It is a mixture of rolling moorland and seaside heath.
The 11th hole, 138 yards from the forward tee, can be especially challenging, depending on wind direction, requiring anything from a 9-iron to a driver.
The 285-yard 13th hole, justly remembered as the signature hole, is known for its breathtaking view across the sea to Ireland. From the tee, which overlooks the North Channel, one can see the Irish coast, Mull of Kintyre and, to the south, the Isle of Man. It is all-downhill, and the backdrop is Sandeel Bay and the rocky coastline.
One of Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club's well-kept secrets is the excellent nine-hole, Par-3 Dinvin Course, which takes about an hour to play. It is ideal for the golfer looking for a quick round or the beginner who isn't quite ready for 18 holes.
The Club opened in 1903. The par-3 course was added in 1912.

was greeted by friendly staff.course was in great condition and views were unreal.there were a few blind holes and on a couple i did great drive over top of marker pole and ball was never found yet.but dont get me wrong i cant wait to return again.a must play course.
Keep it straight
Excellent golf course. Not for the faint hearted though. Rough is a lost ball. Greens run true. Most definitely would play again and again. Very rewarding.
A day in the sun
Very friendly welcome, not over booked and playing PM Sunday was millionaires golf. The course was in good condition throughout and with breathtaking views over the Irish Sea on a very warm sunny day, it was perfect.
What an experience.
It’s been many years since I played here and it did not disappoint. Views over the Irish Sea were stunning. Even the strong winds didn’t spoil the experience.
Course in great condition, staff and members very friendly. Clubhouse homely.
Great condition
After very heavy rain Friday played Saturday late morning and course was dry! Greens in excellent condition for this time of year. Some members we met very welcoming.
Great experience
Supper little course.
Lovely little course with a few short par 4s. Greens a little hard to read but very fast.
ENJOYABLE ROUND OF GOLF
PLAYED THE DUNSKEY COURSE AND ENJOYED THE LAY OUT AND CONDITION OF THE COURSE. SOME INTERESTING HOLES. ALSO RECEIVED A WARM WELCOME FROM THE STAFF AND THE MEMBERS THAT WE SPOKE TO.
Interesting course
I enjoyed my round despite course being very wet in places Some difficult holes and a picturesque par
4 on back nine with the sea and rocks on the left. Rough I found punishing though it's not long. Pro shop very friendly and were happy to give me a deal on items bought. I will be back

Very windy, pretty slow however enjoyed the course and the views.
Dunskey day
A group of s played at Dunskey and were fortunate both with the weather, the welcome from staff and the condition of the course. The location of the course makes it special with grand vistas of the North Channel, Mull of Galloway and Down and Antrim a short hop over the Irish Sea. Dunskey is not a long course but has variety of interesting (and challenging) holes. I recommend it having played there many times.
A Wee Gem
Course was in fabulous condition as a Pro Am was scheduled for the following day. A few blind holes which made direction a bit hit and miss at times, but overall a reasonable test for any golfer. Views were amazing and the good weather made a great day out. Couldn't like to play this in a howling gale, but that's the same with any seaside links course. Pro was very friendly and welcoming , as were all the staff. A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit.
