Great Northern Course
Course will challenge you on many holes, straight ball hitter will do well, course gives you wonderfull scenery in fall during color change.
Third round this year
Solid venue, we played in late May, late July and now late September. I have been meaning to review this place as it is one of our favorites in the whole state. We were able to experience three seasons of weather and scenery and the course is kept in such good shape. We are hoping to relocate to this area in the near future and would love to get the value membership. Great hospitality all over the Northwoods but at St. Germain you are awarded with great conditions and continued improvements. Can't wait to try the new remodeled greens next season. Keep er' up! We'll see you in 2022!
Good course
Good course but their fall rates are way to high for the course. There are nicer courses in the area for a lot better rates.
Always a great run
St. Germain is a great course in the northwoods. Always well maintained and the staff is always courteous and professional. Constant improvements are being made and its set up for golfers of all skill levels. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.
Slow, slow, slow
The course was in great condition and very fun to play, but it was so, so slow that we quit after 17 holes because on a group just teed off and another was waiting on 18
The course needs some good marshals that will actual enforce the pace of play, not just spend their time talking with their buddies
The staff was over whelmed
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
great day golfing at St Germain courses
Hadn't played St Germain in a long time. The course was in great shape; greens were a bit slow but they rolled true.
Had to wait a bit on each hole on the front 9 but we finished 18 in less than 4.5 hrs.
Fairways on some holes are narrow so hit 'em straight.
I look forward to playing there again.
Fun course
Love the course, staff is very nice, usually plays pretty click, unfortunately we waited 5 or more minutes every hole yesterday even after having the twosome behind us join us
Always impressed
First time reviewer after 15 years of playing this spot. As others have said, conditions are just awesome for a town owned facility. If people are familiar with this area, municipal agencies and general upkeep are lacking everywhere you look, with a few exceptions. The greenskeeping staff is making upgrades out on the grounds each year and our group has taken notice. If anyone has played Northwood in Rhinelander, this is somewhat of a clone with overgrown trees. We play there during our visit and while it gives you that forest setting feel, St. G has the more complete package with conditions. You will see several tees that could use some saw action around them. The first par 4 across the road appeared to have some work done on the left side which is a good start. Greens can be testy on run out with a lot of hidden slope. The edges of the rough (what little there is on many of the tight holes) are hard pan from the roots and just the slightest shot a few feet off the fairway your ball can roll right into the thick wooded borders. Challenging course in that regard but it is still one of our favorites with the overall care and improvements. Money well spent.
Busy but moved along just fin
What a great up north course! Fairways lined with trees so bring many balls. Fairways and greens in great shape
