Great shape
Course has been very well kept recently. We have been playing here since the late 90's (I feel old!) and improvements continue to make it one of the best public courses in the state. I still remember the roped off areas on the greens from the snow damage many years ago now. Seems that is a thing of the past. The pace of play is definitely an issue if you are looking to get around in under five hours. Spacing apart the tee times a bit more may prevent already waiting on the par 3 second hole. This was our only issue all day.
Always a pleasure to play at St Germain
The course was in excellent condition, which it usually is. But as is also typical, the pace of play was slow, which I would expect from a resort area with lots of older players and tourists on the course. My group was also appreciative of the new combo white/gold tees which play to about 6000 yds.
Excellent conditioning
So many fun and scenic courses on our summer vacation loop in Vilas County. We play them all but the last few years we have hit St. Germain twice. The course is very well maintained and it continues to get better each year. Keep up the great work out there!
Great golf in the Northwoods
This is one of my favorite courses in the state of Wisconsin. I personally think it’s the best in the area. The greens are quick and deceptive. The course was in amazing shape.
Staff needs to know GolfNow rules.
When checking us in they knew we used GolfNow but explained the rain check rules as the weather called for rain. If we had to stop we would get rain checks for 9 or 18 depending on how many holes we played. When we had to stop the new person working said there was no rain check fir GolfNow golfers. Staff needs to be on the same page.
Great layout in the Northwoods
Course is a great layout with many interesting shots it is very tight with North Wood Woods Pines lining every fairway. And this year the course including the greens is in very good shape. The only issue is it is a municipal course and often beginners or new people to the game will try to play this course. It is way too difficult for beginners and the pace of play suffers dramatically. Today took almost 5 hours.
Great Northwoods course
Perfect Northwoods course. Very pretty and nocely maintained. Worth playing
Great public course in Wisconsin
Had a blast playing golf in the Northwoods last week. This course has continued to be in great shape the last few years as it comes up on our rotation. We are a passionate bunch and our group agrees that in can match up with a lot of other top public courses in the state. Ranger “Kraig” was a hoot and rooting us on each time he passed by. He filled us in on all the course updates. They have a cool Char-broil style grill out front with a couple retro card tables where it looks like you can grill your own food. This is where other places need to take note. Hit it straight out there, trees are looking to gobble any stray shot.
Great challenging course
Always fun to play and in great shape, and unfortunately we were behind a foursome where 2 people didn't know how to play golf
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to keep the pace of play running smoothly and to never have it too backed up. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
