Golf Club of Houston - Member Course

I was excited to play a really nice course, I was a single paired with 3 other people. They were novice to high high handicappers, it took 5 hrs to play 18holes. We were able to catch up to the group in front of multiple times , so the speed wasn't always on my paired golfers. I hope to try and play this course again but will make sure it's a group of my fellow golfers.

4 childhood friends got together for a great day of golf at your lovely establishment. From the practice range to the Marshall to the restaurant bar, everything was top notched. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Front nine was over 3 hours/far too slow.

Love this golf course. - unfortunately the greens had just been top dressed but still rolled really well. The course has a combo tee for tournament and blue tee boxes.. I’d love to see combo tees put in throughout each set of tee boxes. There is a VERY big yardage gap between each set of tee boxes. Creating more combo tees would accommodate all players - not just the low handicappers and bombers. Overall - great day though 👍🏻

It's just an ok track. Built up in a big. As a result there are a lot of sharp edges in play.

Conditioning was, well, you can tell they no longer host a PGA Tour event here.

Practice facility is great however.

Other than the starter, the staff was awkward.

Visiting from UK, great course, amazing greens, very well sculpted and thought through design, would love to play again. Pace of play very good, couple of places we weren’t quite sure where the buggy should go. Both v impressed.

Course was in OK shape. Nothing to write home about. Person at pro shop looked utterly in shock when I walked in to pay for our tee time. Not sure why he was caught so off guard.

Team at the range were awesome. Very happy and friendly. Marshal was also very nice but unfortunatley delays were caught a bit late and despite attempts to get us moving quicker, it didn't really feel like we were seeing results.

Course was just OK. I was expecting a lot better tee boxes and fairway conditions considering the price to play.

No cart girl on course and limited food selection and snack shack on 10 so that was disappointing. Not very inviting club house and saw nobody sitting having breakfast/lunch or drinks before, during or after. Atmosphere could be better.

Course was in good shape, pace of play a little slow. We were a 2 some,, so we played our ball and also a scramble ball just to slowdown for not to wait too much. Total time was around 4 hours and 20 minutes. But definitely would play again. My son played the tips and shot 77. I played the whites shot 78.

The day starts with a first class practice facility, range, putting green and chipping green/bunker. I believe the fairways and greens are bent grass and course is in excellent shape. Home of the Shell Houston open until 2018 you can see how it would hold up to a pro event. Heavily bunkered in fairways and greenside. Water comes into play and shots missing the fairway may catch the sloping rough and end up in the water. Playing the right set of tees is critical to a fun day. A 210 yard driver. I played the white tees and it was a great experience. Highly recommended!
