The Bridges Golf Club

I'm from MN. in town for a week and wanted to play. Got a great deal including rental clubs. Greeted and treated well. Only issue was pace. Especially for a Thur. afternoon ?? Started as a single, teamed up with another single, then teamed up with two others becuz there were 3 threesomes in front of us, for whatever reason that just played slow as molasses. Backed up on every hole from #8 to #18.

In this 100 degree plus summer, this course has surprisingly held up. Water sources are getting low, but greens are in great shape, fairways grassed, and the rough is doing ok. A few bare spots but all in all, a good track. Agree with many others, 17 good holes and quirky #18. Played in 103 degrees on a sunday after watching the british open. Played in 3.25 hours. They also allowed us to bring a cooler of our own water. A good place to play if you can make the drive to Gunter. I highly recommend before the water runs out.

It’s been hot and dry in N TX And the fairways are a little dry. The greens are still nice and balls roll true. Nice staff.

After being drove into by a “member”, no apology no regards for me and my partner at all.

The Marshall and management came to apologize for their member behavior only to gently persuade us to never come back at the clubhouse afterwards.

If you don’t want non members playing, by the way I paid almost $200 in fees to play on 100 degree heat.

If you don’t want nonmembers there then be a private members only club no need and shaming and degrading the public

Great public track. Lack of rain has rough and a few fairway spots pretty burned out. Greens roll great for public golf. Incredible layout. 18 is really the only quirky hole that doesn’t seem to fit with the course but it’s a unique way to finish a round. $80 for a weekend rate seems like a steal.

Absolutely love The Bridges. Great conditions, interesting layout, lots of variety.

Although a little on the slow side, Excellent green conditions, especially compared to most public courses in NorthTexas this summer! Fairways plush as well, not many hard pan areas, given the recent heat. A bit of a drive from Dallas, but worth the trip.

Over the past 2 years we have played quite a few courses and I can tell you we have never been treated so poorly by the course staff. We clearly had 2 back to back tee times booked and the golf staff felt it necessary to provide extreme privilege to a group of members playing behind us. You must know this is not a fully private club. We were a group of 6 black golfers while the Marshal and staff allowed the 4 white members to force their way head of us simply because they didn’t want to wait. The member’s tee time was booked after our 2 tee times, but apparently that did not matter in this case. Have never seen privilege at this level occur and have it be perpetuated by the staff. Horrible experience. Keep and mind we were forced to stop and allow them to play thru.

I almost feel bad knowing that this review will likely increase play and demand, but the truth is the truth. The staff are all amazing and clearly demonstrate how much they appreciate your patronage. The facilities are very well maintained. Yet some how the course is even better. Links style with strategically placed water on a few holes for a twist. The course played very fair and was in incredible condition despite the freeze ease in the year and oppressive 100+ heat and dryness of recent days. If the wind is blowing the course could get even more challenging as their is not many trees the block it. It looks wide open but missing fairways by too much will leave in long wispy (hay) rough, a few times I almost stepped on my ball while looking. I high recommendation would be an understatement. The only slight I could possibly give is that carts weren't the best. That said it looked as the fleet was being replaced. Don't let a little.drice deter you from this one. It is well worth the drive and then some.
