About
The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

Great Value
Is one of my top 5 courses in the metroplex. Balls out on driving range. Fantastic greens very undulated so know pin placement. Sand traps are good, no clay residue after hitting a shot. Only area of improvement is on course courtesy cart staff. The day was cold I understand but she was somewhat rude and just drove by us twice. Will definitely be on my monthly play list.

Course conditions good for winter
Went off first on Sat, played as a threesome in < 3 hours. Course conditions are improving, the greens are firm and fast. Don’t know that it’s worth $75 on weekends, but that’s pretty much the going rate anywhere these days. Will make the drive again happily.

Course was in great shape
This is winter golf at its best. The greens were rolling well, fairways in decent shape. And Pace of play in under four hours is always good thing

Winter play
I love TX because you can literally play golf year round.
I played this course in the summer when it was 95 and sunny and hot, it is a lot different with the growth than you'd expect in the winter. I happened to get a colder windier day by TX standards. The course felt more wide open with out the vegetation growth. The course itself was in good shape though, greens were true, fairways still green.

wow like playing in Scotland
we played on a Monday tee'd off around mid day. course was wide open. I love the links style. Greens were slippery fast almost unfair. I travel to southern California and Vegas a few times a year to play but to me this is right in my backyard and is now my new favorite. Highly recommended!

The greens were in good shape. I play 1 per month at various courses in this price range and these greens were the best.

The bridge to nowhere actually leads somewhere...
It's quite a drive from Dallas up to Gunter to play The Bridges. It's worth it.
The staff is very friendly, and the place has a nice laid back vibe.
The course itself is challenging, but fun. I've only played one other Fred Couples designed course before, but saw some of the same themes. The green complexes are challenging and offer a lot of opportunity to be creative. The greens themselves have some pretty wild undulation, often offering the perfect defense to otherwise "easy" holes.
If I had any criticism it's that the par 5s on the front (especially #5) seemed a bit too friendly... although the green on #3 is pretty intense!
The course is on a wide open plot of land with few trees, but still our group found that some shots were tighter than they appeared. Your game will be tested.
Number 18 is a unique and fun end to the round. With a big decision to make off the tee box, you could either find yourself hitting driver/hybrid to get home in 2... or hitting 4i, 4i, 7i to reach. With a match on the line, it's a great risk/reward closer.
This course is open enough for just about anybody to enjoy, but brings some heat for players of all skill levels. It's worth the drive.
