About
The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

They assign a cart to share with strangers.

Slick greens
Slow pace of play for a Monday, but the greens were nice and slick.

Great course for the money
Course was fun to play and would recommend it to everyone to play. A few short holes for par 4’s and 5’s but the putting surface will make up for it once you are on the green.

Worth Playing
Really friendly staff and a bargain to play compared to any number of courses in the area North of Dallas. The layout is somewhat challenging, especially some of the par 3's and the 18th. Course knowledge definitely helps!
Conditions were somewhat mixed. The greens are probably some of the best I've played on in some time! They putt "true", run smooth and are fast. Due to a lot of undulation they can be very challenging.
The fairways, perhaps due mostly to the grass being dormant, are somewhat hard and not friendly to those who normally take substantial divots, favoring those who tend to "sweep" the ball.
The course is a "Links" style and is maintained and plays that way with plenty of roll in the fairways and one has the ability to run the ball up onto the greens.
Many fairway bunkers have the liners showing through but the greenside bunkers are well maintained.
I would definitely recommend playing this course and though the drive can be rather lengthy to get there for many it is well worth it. Can't wait to see what conditions are like starting next Spring.

Great layout, but tough from the tips
I have played this course about 5 times. It's an hour outside of Dallas. The layiut makes use of the topography very well. The front side is where you need to play well, because it's much easier than the back side. No matter the time of year I play at The Bridges, the last 6 holes seem to always be into a 15 mph wind. The course can play very long into the wind from the back tees. I frequently had to go up 2 clubs on approach shots. The course itself is always in good condition. Greens are fast, but run true. I wish it had a larger practice area (just a putting green) and the range isn't great, but that has to do with the land available. The course is surrounded by ranches, which means you may get your shot interrupted by cows! When I have been there, it's never been crowded. Normally, green fees on the weekend run over $70,

Watch Out for the Greens
I used one of my GofNow passes. The greens were way to fast - Like puting on your kitchen countertops All faiwways all brown I only played 9 hours because it was so windy and greens wer so quick - Perhaps better in the spring or fall

Always have a great time at this course. The gentleman in the pro shop is never friendly but luckily I only have to deal with him for a minute.

The Bridges at Preston Crossing
Want to get away without getting away? Go to Gunter and play this course! Generous fairways, challenging greens that roll like billiard tables with slope. Enough sand and water to keep your driver honest. Driveable par 4 on the front and perhaps the best closing hole in DFW with water in play on each shot. A few houses border the course but none should come into play. Nice clubhouse and friendly staff. Choctaw Casino is 35 minutes north so if you don't win $ on the course....perhaps your luck will be better on the slots.

Playing at The Bridges is always a nice golf experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Course is kept in good condition for a good game. Pace of play is always moving forward. I’ll be back!

Never disappointed with this track
Always a challenging but fun round here. Great layout. Greens rolled very well. Friendly staff. Some bunker work needed and I still think the 18th hole doesn't fit the rest of the course. Just my opinion though. Go check it out for yourself. I bet you won't be disappointed either.

Pace of play
It would have been helpful if the marshal had been more diligent about getting slower players to pick up the pace. Too much time spent waiting on tee boxes waiting on slow grips ahead of us.
