Great course, horrible shape!
When I booked this for the two of us, I was not made aware that the course was under maintenance conditions. So not until we show up ready to play are we made aware that the back nine is closed. Have to play the front twice. Worse is how mostly dry the course was. The greens were completely covered in sand. Not a little sand, buy more like a thick half inch thick of sand. I get that courses have to do maintenance, that’s what makes them nice but why do they hide this fact when it is in progress. We were on a vacation itinerary and prepaid so were basically forced to play under these conditions. Sad.
5 hours and 10 minutes
The course used to be fun to play. Now, it is a grind and very frustrating. 4 hours or less is ideal. 4 1/2 is supposed to be max. But over 5 is really ridiculous. I will find another place to spend my money.
Nice to play again
We used to play here often but moved from the area. Down for the day and remembered the course well. Always liked it.
Terrible customer service
The middle age white man the works in the Pro shop on Saturdays during the twilight reservations has been nothing but rude to me for the past three or four reservations. I don’t think he has any personal bias against me and his behavior is indiscriminate as other patrons I’ve played with at the course have also complained of his rude and unprofessional demeanor. In one such Instance after paying for my reservation and cart that I booked online He never gave me a cart key so after having to remind him for that key to the cart I was setting my golf bag in the cart and he decided to come out and tell me that all of the carts were reserved. So I took my bag off the cart and was waiting for some type of cue from the man in the pro shop but he newer said anything. The gentleman responsible for maintaining the golf carts and cleaning them for people with reservations said to me “you can grab any cart that you want”. The guy at the pro shop came out again and said I would have to wait but my reservation was in less than 10 minutes. I couldn’t fathom who would need the cart when my reservation was coming up in the next 10 minutes. I eventually grabbed my golf bag out of the cart without any refund as I didn’t want to lose me tee time because this guy was on some type of power trip. Two weeks later I am met with the same middle aged white man at the pro shop. This time after I paying for my reservation and cart he tells me I will be sharing my cart with another single. I asked him why I would be sharing my cart with a stranger during the pandemic when I paid for my cart in full. This clearly disgruntled him and he mumbled something under his breath and decided to drop the issue.
It’s a shame so many at Glenn Annie do a wonderful job to provide a good experience. Why put someone in the pro shop who doesn’t like to serve customers and smile? It quite a shame because the course is quite lovely.
Up and Down
This course is in the foothills and has a lot of ups and downs. There are a good 5 holes with awkward layouts which distracts from the overall experience. The greens were in good shape but the tee boxes and fairways were in need of maintenance.
Bad Experience
This course was so crowded that it took us 6hrs to play! The worst part is that the staff doesn’t care and it’s my fault for playing here because the community told me that this course is going down hill real quick! If the staff finds out that you booked it through GolfNow, they look down upon you like you’re trash. I’ll be shocked if I ever come back here again.
Course Newbie
Interesting course. Not a fan of all the cart path only holes. Really slowed downplay on back nine. Also did not appreciate being told to have carts back in by 5:15. Should not provide carts after 1pm if need carts back by set time. Great views on back nine.
Christmas golf trip
Lovely golf course that I always try to play when I visit Santa Barbara.
Always a great place to play.
Challenging course, great views and awesome breakfast burritos.
Beautiful course with spectacular views
Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands make this course a pleasure. There is a lot of uphill-downhill on this course. Don't try to walk it.
Glen Annie Golf Course
This is a very enjoyable hillside course to play with nice views. It sits a few miles back from the coast, but still provides ocean views from several elevated tee boxes.
Greens were excellent but can be very quick. Several holes have severely sloping greens that will confound even very proficient putters.
A couple of pretty funky holes that need to be played a few times, but overall a very fun and challenging layout with lots of elevation changes throughout the course.
