Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club

About
Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club (formerly known as Sugar Cane Golf Club), as its name would imply, sprawls across western Palm Beach County's vast sugar cane fields. Opened in 1987, the golf course features mature landscaping and a classic design that is challenging but playable. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also numerous strategically placed traps concentrated along the greensides. One of the best aspects of the golf course that makes it stand out from others in Palm Beach County is the peace and quiet offered by its secluded setting. Golfers are surrounded by wildlife including alligators and bald eagles rather than cars and homes. It is one of the county's best-kept secrets.

Always a nice day out at Belle Glade!
Great layout, both nines are completely different, staff is always friendly, pace of play is terrific and this is a great value for your money. It was nice to get out west.
Last chance for Country Golf
Belle Glade Golf Course it's the last affordable option for local players rural golf two separate nines a mile apart and built 60 years apart of course conditions are Lush wide green corridors that are neither rough nor Fairway the greens are small and fast not perfect but good the golf course is immensely improved over the last 2 years from unplayable to surprisingly good so if you like country club golf it's not worth the drive but if you recently lost your job or are retired on a fixed income maybe come out late in the afternoon and walk 9
One more for this Snowbird
Having played once previously I couldnt resist a Golf Now crazy cheap deal to play this course 1 more time.Definitely worth the ride through the Sugarcsne ..Saw gators and all sorts of different birds while playing a uniquely situated layout between the canals surrounded by the sugarcane fields...its a Munie and not manicured but worth the experience....
Belle glade gem
Beautiful course, scenery is amazing eagles, alligators, owls. Course has been fixed up a lot. Greens run about a 10. This is not your fancy schmancy golf course where they cater to your every dollar. Country golf at its finest. With beautiful fairways undulating greens. I have a blast everytime I come here. Front 9 is amazing back nine plays very long, sip play from the white tees
Great value
Very windy day, insanely windy actually. The course layout is pretty good, there’s not a whole lot of trouble to get into but enough to keep it interesting. Fairways are in great shape, tee boxes as well. Greens were in very good shape but not perfect. For the money it is a great value. Looking forward to playing there again.
The course was a pleasure to play. The last time we played there it was still called SugarCane and was very
mediocre. That no longer exists. It is a solid 4 star in all aspects. I will play this course whenever we are in the area.
Good layout
Course is very challenging the fairways are not cut ,tee box’s need work don’t think about going in the bunkers they are rock hard but had fun
Fun course
We had the whole course to ourselves. Greens are a little rough and slow. But, overall course conditions are good. The newer back 9 is an excellent layout, that is both tough and fun.
Worst golf course I have ever played
I never write reviews for courses that are in bad shape because there is usually a good reason (weather event, drought, disease). This will be my first one.
This is the worst golf course I have ever played.
The tee boxes were in bad need of a cutting and probably could use a rebuild.
The fairways had not been cut in at least a week.
The greens showed signs of not having been aerated in years. Half of most of the greens was dirt, not sand.
Farmer Fran is trying to take care of this course.
Someone who knows how do upkeep a golf course should be hired immediately or the course should be left to nature.
I will never play here again.
Just ok
Course is literally in a sugar cane farming community. We were about the only ones on the course and played 27 holes. Back nine nicer than the front. Greens are in poor condition. But it was an enjoyable day. Paid $25 to play. Barely worth it.
Last resort course
The greens needs to be cut and rolled... weeds, sand and thick grass are growing on 13 of 18 greens. The fairways needs attention and the tee boxes are shaggy and has no real flat footing. All of the carts are full of spider webs... I can go on but why?
LOVE THIS COURSE
"Diamond in the rough"... Play it once... you become addicted... it is awesome...

What year did you play this course because I saw something totally different?
This course is good chalenge
My husband, and I, like this course, because we can play alone, and the price is good. The second 9, is better . We will go again.
Sugarcane sweet! Belle Glades hidden gem!
Really cool & Amazing Fun course. Super Friendly staff. Front 9 is very deceiving, Trees makes it Look narrow from tee box small elevated greens If your really good your able to drive a couple of the Par 4's Scenic view on the 1st Par 3 Blue tees which sits right along side the Bank of the southeast Dam from Lake Okeechobee, absolutely amazing. We actually witnessed Fishermen catching nice sized Bass along the bank of the Okeechobee. The Back 9 is beautiful! Nice greens open fairways, yet very challenging, fairways in great shape elevated greens in great shape Amazing view of Miles & Miles of Sugarcane. Trust me for the Price there's nothing better. I actually have played this course 4 times in the last 9 days & I Live an hour away! If your looking to get pampered than this is not the course for you, Sign actually reads. If no ones here grab keys play your round & pay when your done, who does that? Free range balls. Country golf at it's finest, Florida style! I can't say enough great things of the course. For the Price I'm definitely coming back at least once a week Fast pace of play, challenging you to wanna play another 9 or even 18 That's how Cool this place is.
Good Time
As soon as you walk up, you realize this is one of those courses that you are going to have a good time on. Great staff, fun layout, great pace of play. The character of the course is displayed on a sign at the 10th tee box: Beware of Gators and Snakes.
I have played there several times, although very few people are encountered, the course is lacking maintenance. Grass is rough and greens unkept. The other issue is the cost considering the distance to travel, for a public course in Palm Beach County it is one of the most expensive considering the course condition.
