Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club

About
Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club (formerly known as Sugar Cane Golf Club), as its name would imply, sprawls across western Palm Beach County's vast sugar cane fields. Opened in 1987, the golf course features mature landscaping and a classic design that is challenging but playable. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also numerous strategically placed traps concentrated along the greensides. One of the best aspects of the golf course that makes it stand out from others in Palm Beach County is the peace and quiet offered by its secluded setting. Golfers are surrounded by wildlife including alligators and bald eagles rather than cars and homes. It is one of the county's best-kept secrets.

The course was a pleasure to play. The last time we played there it was still called SugarCane and was very
mediocre. That no longer exists. It is a solid 4 star in all aspects. I will play this course whenever we are in the area.
Being mosquito repellant
tons of mosquitos, course in good condition, grass is long on the greens so they’re slow and grass long in fairways ball may disappear. They were cutting the grass while we played. Best value and staff is always excellent.
Challenging and Fun course
Back nine designed by Gary Player is challenging and the whole 18 is deceptively simple. Very friendly clubhouse.
Course has an excellent layout however green is a very poor other than that course has potential
Better than expected
I have played here over the years, conditions tend to vary. Judging by reviews I was hesitant but for the price we gave it a try. Front 9 is in rough shape, some greens are beat up but overall better than i had expected. Back 9 was in pretty good shape and is definitely the better part of the course with some challenging holes and water. Greens much better on the back. Overall worth the ride if you're looking for a change at a course you can easily get on for a bargain price. Just keep an open mind, not for golf snobs!
Staff. Friendliest Ever
Cindy was fabulous. Course is fun to play. Not to busy for this time of year. Had a great time.
Very disappointing!
Never played here but decided to try a new course & price was what drew myself and my golf partner to try this course. In the middle of nowhere which was fine. Clubhouse exterior appeared run down as we approached and there was no one loading bags on carts which is not a big deal. The bigger issue was the golf course itself. We play public courses 95% of the time but this was by far the worst golf course condition-wise that we have ever played. The fairways were like riding a rollercoaster which I found funny actually, but the greens were terrible. They were hard and very bumpy even when there was grass and there were some bare spots on some greens. Greens need a lot of work! Not being mean just telling it like it is. I will let the pictures I am downloading tell the story. If we could have asked for a refund after the first hole, had we not booked through Golf Now. Layout of course was fine. Weather was perfect and general scenery was fine so it was not a total loss. I should have taken a video of at least one hole. I/we will not play here again...

Belle no Longer
Used to put up with her imperfections but no longer possible...The conditions and on course management has become deplorable...
Don't waist your money
The fist nine is in a very poor condition. No indications what so ever as too yardage, even holes numbers, nothing.
The back nine is OK, but again markers
Definitely not coming back here.
Still a great track
Wish they could get the greens cleaned up a little. But I seriously love this track!!!!
Always a great time with all types of holes to challenge you.
Good round of golf
The course is in good shape, greens are fast. The pace of play was acceptable.
Overall terrible
Greens terrible as was rest of course. Sand traps a real joke
Just ok
Layout of the back 9 was nice. Greens are a bit bumpy. Good price. The young women at the counter check in was not to friendly
Exceeded my expectations!
Nice golf course to play. The course conditions are pretty good, the greens are fast and small. Be careful when choosing your putting line 😀.
The staff at the proshop was super nice, but the guy incharge of the golf cart almost fight with us because it was 2 minutes before the time to return the carts and whe were in the middle of the 18th fairway. He was so rude, and didn't let us finish the hole. He was ready to pull a gun and kicked us out. Really sad to end that great experience this way..
Don't be late returning the carts !!!!
Avoid this Belle
First off - if you have any breathing issues don’t play here. This course is surrounding by huge sugar factories constantly pouring tons of nasty stuff into the air. I drove through a dirt storm just before pulling into parking lot. The lady behind counter could have cared less about her job. Golf cart was dirty, torn, and lacked GPS. Played as a single and it took almost five hours - three groups of 4 in front of me - none of which allowed me to play through. Par 3s were backed up at least two or three groups. Fairways mostly undefined pasture land. Greens a mess with major slopes. Cheap for a reason.
