Boca Dunes Golf & Country Club

The clubhouse and bag drop are unmarked, and I found it more by coincidence. The bag drop staff was cordial, but the pro shop staff was surly and dismissive. The golf cart was old and badly maintained...and hadn't been cleaned very well.

The course winds its way through a condominium complex in dire need of painting and upkeep...not a very pleasant ambience. The fairways and rough were in good shape, but the greens and tees were in very rough shape. To top everything off, the grounds maintenance staff was blasting rap on their boom boxes loud enough to be really disruptive to play.

This was not a course that I could recommend to anyone.

Tee boxes need some work. As do some greens. Greens very challenging.

The course overall is a bit mundane...BUT the greens are really great. There is slope and levels that require thoughtful shots into small but fair greens. They were in great shape as well.
Played the front in 1.5 hours on a Sunday but the back nine was really backed up and took 2.5 hours. what a shame took away from the fun but still a good course with some challenge.

Pretty good layout, nice mix of holes. Greens were recovering from aeration. Fridges and fairways need attention but overall for the GolfNow Hot Deals price of $7 it was worth it.

This is an old school layout a la late 60s, early 70s - greens are generally narrow and deep rather than wide, fronts are pinched in by bunkers. Has what I call "push up" greens, just slightly elevated. there's definitely no bumpin' and runnin' brit-o style, it's fly, baby, fly it to the hole. Sand in bunkers initially looked to be of poor quality but I think it's crushed shells and sand mixed, very playable as they have a seasoned firmness about them and you can hit the shot you want to hit out of them. The course was a little scrubby around the edges but there was plenty to keep you interested. Little bit of a course goof up on my tee time (can you say “Saturday mornings sweeps league”?) but the starter gent was more than accomodating, offering to let me play the executive course while I was waiting for a spot on the chsp course. This appears to be a local-favorite course in the midst of an older housing subdivision with all the charm, in fact, of the several resort and “name” courses I played that week this place was the busiest of all. For the less than 30 bucks I paid including cart this was an outstanding value and I’ll make a point of visiting again.

Really surprised, I really thought this was going to be a decent course from the reviews. Course is not maintained, really terrible layout with no official yardage markers that I saw on the tee boxes. Ball washers are all broken (no handles) surprised there was some water to actual clean the ball a little. While it's a very open course if you hit your ball off the fairway slightly have fun trying to find your ball. Don't want to completely bash the course so I'll leave it at that and say the starter was very friendly and they took care of you at the end of the round. We finished at noon and gave the gentlemen who cleaned our clubs and took them out to our car a $10 tip, he only had $12 in tips with our tip so I guess that says something about the course.

Very good value for up to the average weekend golfer.

The course lends it self to the amateur player off the tees, as there are not too many tight tee shots, plenty of room to miss on all but 1 hole. The greens are very narrow, so misses to either side of the green make for tough up and downs. The greens are descent in speed, but not very consistent. The traps tend to be in rough shape, making for some interesting lies.

Played with no one in front of us or behind us so it was a lesiurely pace on the course. Greens were in great condition and fairways were great. The course is a bit monotonous as most holes are straight and have little chance of hitting hazards.

You can't beat the value. The staff was very friendly and, the course was in very good condition. I shall return!

Bring a good chip game, the greens are very small. Unfortunately the tee boxes are not in great shape and they are all crowned....water drainage? Was inexpensive so it was worth it. I recommend this course if you get at a good price, but there are nicer course in the area.

Layout is OK with a few challenging holes. Staff was friendly. Practice area looked good, but I did not use it.
Rough and fairways were weedy and riddled with unfilled divots; tees were bumpy and not very level; fairways seemed to need watering, despite frequent recent rains and overflowing water hazards. Plugged, very bumpy greens made putting difficult and not enjoyable.
The early summer plugging suggests Maintenance is trying to improve this course, but it has a long way to go in most respects except bunkers, in which sand depth was somewhat inconsistent, but usually smoothly raked. This is one of the few South Florida courses where preferred lies are necessary in the summer.
Low greens fee was the only redeeming factor, probably offered due to the course condition.

This rates as one of the worst courses I have ever played (along with Ocean Breeze a.k.a. Boca Teeca, for similar reasons). The friendliness of the staff was one of the few redeeming features; otherwise, the course can only be described as a boring succession of nondescript par 4's, all of which are in a sad state of repair. The course is surrounded by a series of equally ill-maintained housing developments from which occasion teenagers appeared to wander aimlessly across the course just in time to interrupt tee shots. It is not an exaggeration to say that these kids seems to deliberately walk as slowly as possible across the fairways as though daring you to hit them.
The greens were surprisingly well maintained, considering the crab-grass and weed fairways they follow, but that couldn't make up for the general sorry condition of the course.
Tee boxes are universally arranged in single lines, gold, blue, and white being distinguished merely by being 10 or so yards nearer each greens. The course designer manages to repeat this total lack of imagination throughout the entire course.
Fairways and tee boxes were in terrible condition when I played. On some holes there were literally no grass on the tee box.
I got a very cheap deal on Golf Now ($17) but still walked away feeling I'd been ripped off. The very worst of Florida golf and one definitely to avoid.

Tees need to be a bit more flat and a bit more grass. Some fairways allowed misses while others were extremely challenging to hit. Greens played true and fast. South Florida wind promotes a player to think about shot. It was a good time
