About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Odd layout
Tee boxes were a little dry and hard. Greens were in decent shape, but very fast. The hazard layout was tricky for a guy that drives roughly 225-250, like myself, as most of the water hazards are located along the fairway at roughly that distance. So I found myself laying up a lot as opposed to attacking the course. Over all I was pleased though.
Decent value, conditions could be better
Decent course with some interesting holes, but fairways and greens could use some love. Good to get out and play for the value, but wouldn’t pay more. Walkable course if you are interested in walking.

Shot placement watef and sand make it a challenge. I had a good time.
I like the dfiving range. Howevef I do not like having to wear mask in pro shop, but I do it.
Good time had by all
We enjoyed our time out on the course. There was a group in front of us and a group behind us. It seemed that the group behind us were creeping up on us a lot of the time, but we couldn’t go any faster because we often had to wait for the group in front of us before we could tee off on most of the holes. There were four of us and the group in front of us seemed to be only 2 and the group behind us had two players and three people in Two carts.
It had rained the night before and earlier in the morning so some of the areas were a bit wet. Overall it was great.
The staff for the most wis great
The place of play was glacial. On hole number 4 we were behind 4 ladies who played like they were circling the drain. Hole number 5 was a par 5 and it was completely empty I mean nobody on it as the woman came off of number 4 that’s how slow they were.
We called the pro shop who said that a range would come out to address it. No one ever showed. It was suggested that we pass the woman, excuse me, police your course!
Thankfully, they quit after 9 holes.
However, we caught the group in front of them on the 14th hole and again the pace of play stopped.
We’re never going back to this course which we would play a couple of times a year.
Nice public course
Staff could not have been any nicer. A nice public course in pretty good condition. Traps were well manicured. Would defiantly play again

We had a great day golfing Southwinds, we will definately be back!
Overall a good option
Course is in fairly good shape. Greens better than usual. Layout a hit too flat. Staff is great. But the 19th hole is lacking variety…..only hotdogs and basic sandwiches.
