What a course
This course is laid out very well spacious not busy. Grass is very green and very well kept the maintenance team was out there when we began play. The Marshall is an awesome guy he gave me water.
Love that course! And the staff Ashley was wonderful!
Won’t be back for awhile
First of all, it looks like a beautiful course however, the play conditions are completely different. The worst thing about this course is the golf course have a governor that makes speed extremely slow. I don’t mind taking my time to golf but Jesus Christ every small hill slows the cart down to a crawl, the course is wide open and plenty of fairway to hit however, it is full of crabgrass, which when you swing grab your club and open the face Giving you a terrible second shot if for some reason you avoid crabgrass you end up with a brutal lie(down hill/up hill) where one foot is higher then the other.
Good and bad
Great clubhouse and staff does a good job. Greens are very very good. Fairsways are average at best. Lots of barn grass investigation some right in front of the greens; additionally bare and thin spots on the fairways.
Today they didn’t have enough golf carts. I was told Yamaha “took 25+ back”. (?) Seems sketchy and with that said it is a good course and I want it to be great.
Perfect afternoon
My buddies and I played Hidden Valley many times in 1970s-1990s and always found it a fun, but challenging course. It was great to go back for old times sake. The course is even better than I remembered as they've added a whole new clubhouse and restaurant. The course itself is little changed except for the first hole which was shortened. The course is in excellent shape with everything green and manicured. Fairways are generous so it's a forgiving course with a variety of hole shapes. Afternoon was quiet with few players so got around quickly. Weather was sunny and perfectly clear blue. I even saw a number of deer, too, so great place to get away from the crowds.

But the Driving range and practice area are the first thing you see when arriving to Hidden Valley or driving by and is a eye sore and its lack of a practice area is whats it needs to make this course a great course
Great and friendly pro shop staff
This is a “hidden” gem!
Course was FANTASTIC! Had no clue what to expect but my family had played before and said it was a cool course. The day started off amazing in the pro shop with excellent service and directions. Took the time to tell us how to get around, what to expect with a few tricky holes, 15 is a must see amazing setup.
Literally cannot say anything better about this place. I will assuredly play there again and again every time I’m up in Clearlake moving forward!
Golf course for town folks
On Monday, nobody but us playing the flat and unattractive golf course made us to quit after 9 holes. Hot weather didn’t help. Very friendly staff and new facility, good for friends gathering.
Should have played the back 9 one of my favorite 9 holes anywhere
Great Track
First few holes are pretty straight but once you get going it’s amazing. Not too tricky but a lot of fun.
Just 2% more^^
1) More ball washer would be nice
2) A few washers run out of water
3) Sometimes carts are pops up from nowhere, crisscrossing the course, a bit disturbing
4) It would be nice If markings for 'Next Hole' is bigger and well visible

Daniel, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience here with us. We are currently working on getting all golf carts up to the proper speed and sadly you got one we haven't adjusted yet. As for the crab grass, we have been working diligently to get it removed and have been applying the proper applications to do so. Please come back and allow us to showcase our golf course for you.
