Great course, however, they allow 6 in a group?!?
Great course. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was fine until we hit a 6-some at 15. They were locals and playing all sorts of mini games. Looked like driving contests, chipping contests, and putting contests.
The Marshall was sitting talking to them on 16 tee and then purposely drove off and around us, so that he did not have to talk to us about the huge slowdown. He crossed the road and entered to 15th fairway on the opposite side of the green from the cart path, so as to avoid us.
I thought 5-somes were bad. A 6-some is awful and should not be allowed.
The group had no intention of letting us pass, even though we waited, in view, for every hit, from tee box to green.

HVL Golf Course should be on your list!
If you haven't played this course lately be sure to add it to your list. The course is in great condition. The fairways are lush and the greens are rolling great. We teed off in the early afternoon just as twilight rates were starting and played in three hours fifteen minutes. Pretty awesome!
They have a new clubhouse so we arrived early for some lunch and a drink. Food was very good and even though it was crowded from a special event we were served on time. I will be heading back to Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course very soon!

Good day to be on the course
Weather was warm but not too hot, course was in good shape fairways mowed and green. Some rough not mowed yet as some was still wet. Golf carts are all new and all bunkers have been sanded instead of the red cinders they were made with in previous years.

Driving Range
I have played HV for over 25 years ,they have a new and improved pro shop and club house and have a great staff , The putting green will be ready for use in month or 2 but unfortunately the first thing everyone sees is the driving range and it is not very appealing and we are disappointed with the driving range and lack of any type of targets to hit towards while warming up
All great golf courses and Country Clubs have a great practice facility and feel this is holding Hidden Valley Lake CC back from being a great over all facility and this is what everyone sees when coming to Hidden Valley
the golf carts need to be upgraded,
And considering the weather it has gone thru the course is in good shape

Course was great with many water features since a recent atmospheric river, so course was a liitle wet in spots, but played well.

Hidden Valley
This course provides two very distinctive challenges from the front 9 and the back 9. Front nine is pretty straightforward but once you make the turn. You start getting into the valley which require a bit more skill to plan your tee shots accordingly.
