Beautiful Spring Day
An enjoyable round on a course I’ve played multiple times.
It was in great condition.
Good grounds keeping
Plenty of water to lose all the ProV1s in your bag, good course layout, plenty of toilets for when your wife comes along for the drive or plays.
No signs at tee box to show fairway layout, obstacles or water. Nor screens in cart to show angles of fairway.
Unlike other courses. The 200m 150m and 100m markers aren't colour coded or too obvious. But there are markers there and on the cart path when looking for them. Course seems to be getting a face lift which is good.
Wonderful golf course
My husband and I did play golf at The Glades Golf Club many times because the golf courses are very beautiful and feel very comfortable.
Excellent course greens had been cioref recently, making putting a bit bumpy & no drinks cart was odd on a busy Sunday. But overall very good course thoroughly enjoyed it.
Terrible !!
A nice layout but very very over-rated. Always hearing how good The Glades is, being the only course on the Gold Coast with bent grass greens. Here's a suggestion for The Glades - get rid of the greens and put in Bermuda. The greens are worse than terrible. Patchy, dead spots all over them, firm for bent grass (not receptive at all), bumpy, and very very slow. Country courses up the QLD coast are way better. Over-hyped, over-rated and simply terrible. One to miss.
Glades 18holes
Great course. Tough and challenging, but very forgiving to the right handed slicers out there.
Overbooked and slow pace of play but otherwise a good course
Pace of play is meant to be 4 hours 30 minutes but they probably should flip that to 30 hours and 4 minutes to be more realistic
Pretty Good
Yep, not bad at all. Not overly long, still a bit of room on fairways to open up with the big dog now and then. Tasty par 3 on the 17th from the back marker. Enjoyed some of the undulations, through out the course, (it does get flooded, but credit to staff, they get her back up and playing). Beware the afternoon tee off time though. The back stretch is into the western sun. Felt like Stevie Wonder out there!
Quality Golf Course
We’re visiting my wife’s family here in Brisbane and play a number of courses. As serious golfers the Glades fulfilled our expectations. Australia has great golf but we are, sorry, a bit spoiled coming from the Monterey/Bay area of California. The greens were good and quick, no ridiculously fast however, the layout challenging and playable, the pace of play was pretty good with a few stalls. Staff friendly. No complaints and would go back there.
Great course, a touch wet
Most of the holes are in great condition given the recent QLD rain, some of them would possibly closed if it were another course. Balls plugged on tees shots that landed on the fairway with some not being able to be found. That made scoring difficult and punished a good tee shot. When it is dry I will be back. Course definitely warrants a Top 100 rating.
Thanks for the Round
Awesome days golf at the Glades, one of the most challenging, varied and quality courses I have ever played at. Lots of water so if you’re not hitting straight bring plenty of balls. Locker room facilities very nice as well. Had to wait for a couple of groups at a few holes, but would put up w that any day to play on this course.
