Ron Jaworski's RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club
About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Nice fairways and greens, great views of the Delaware River and Philly
I played here once last year and was impressed. I had to play here again. Considering the GolfNow rate, it's the best value for the buck in South Jersey. The fairways and greens are in great shape, even after one of the worst winters on record. The traps need some work, but overall they weren't that bad. One of my new favorite courses that plays 6,800+ yards from the blues.
Great Course
This is a really great course. definitely the best in the area.
Difficult yet fair, wonderful condition
The fairway turf was in excellent condition, especially considering time of yr and few frosts. Greens are lightning fast, but prefer that. Difficult for avg golfer but some good opp for low scores early in rd.
Good Course, VERY tough in wind!
played off the tips in 25-30mph wind and wish i moved up. course was in great shape however the bunkers could've used some more sand versus stones/pebbles. greens were very quick and receptive. will have to play again once it's warmer (was hovering around 45*F not including wind chill).
great shape today
Riverwinds is in great shape right now, no goose droppings anywhere, greens were fast, nice sand-traps which I experienced firsthand, fairways and tees good shape
5 stars
Course was in amazing shape, very challenging layout when coupled with the breeze off the river. Greens played fast and gained pace as the round went on. 17th hole is a memorable one if you're accurate with your short irons. Overall course played great, will definitely be playing here again.
Good course, but
Course was in pretty good condition considering its the end if the season. Fairly challenging and great views. My only issue was that the Marshall didn't keep the pace of play. Foursome Infront of us was so slow. Marshal didn't do anything to speed them up. I had a 1:30pm tee time and didn't finish till just after 6. That's pretty ridiculous in my opinion
Unique fescue features in fairways
First time I played the course. There is no clubhouse and the pro shop is in a tennis center. First tee feels like it is a half mile from cart staging area. Practice green was in poor condition. The course itself was in excellent shape. The greens were hard, fast and challenging. The fairways had fescue waste areas on several holes providing unique character to this links style course.
Great Layout
Loved this course. Head and shoulders better than Scotland Run. Can't believe I haven't played this course before. Great views of the river and the city. Air plaines landing all the time. Won't be the last time.
Course in great shape. Wide fairways.
Not a complaint, but course is 6500 yds from the whites. Little longer than I am used to. Very few Gold tees on the course. Also no Gold on the scorecard
Very nice course
Beautifully maintained and fantastic views. The 17th island green out on the Delaware River was great.
Awesome course
Walked 18 in mid-october. Pretty fair course in great condition. Some tee boxes were worn but it looked like they were doing a decent job moving the markers around to repair worn areas. Fairways were great, and the greens were perfect. Good value for the money.
Challenging Course & In Good Condition...
I have played this course a few times over the past few years. It is long and challenging. The layout is great and views on the last few holes are great. The condition was very good.
Great course except for the horrible pace of play
It was my first time at River Winds, and the course did not disappoint. Our Tee time was delayed a few minutes and the group in front of us was extremely slow. Overall I was very impressed with the course, but the pace was grueling. After a 2 1/2 hour front nine, the pace on the back nine improved. But as we were approaching the 18th hole, the marshal told us we could not finish due to insurance, I was floored. There was still plenty of daylight to finish 1 hole, but he told me the drive back to the clubhouse would be "scary!" You have got to be kidding me, I wish the marshal would have been so strict on the rules about pace of play, instead of just wanting to go home. But all in all it was a nice experience, I hope next time I can play all 18!
Great place to play
Very nice conditions, Will play again soon ... Can't wait
Fantastic course, one of the best in south Jarsey.
Our foursome played in early October. The course was in magnificent shape. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The rough was not to high and manageable to hit out of. The course is very long, even from the white tees. A tee between the whites and yellows would be nice for seniors. The scenery was very cool. The seventeenth hole could be put on any magazine cover.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to playing there again.
Great day
It was a great day and the course was pretty good. The greens were soft, and some of the fairways were soft/wet as well, but it was pretty well maintained for the end of the season.
This course has great fairways.
Fairwayw were in great condition.
Greens 75 %. Some hole placements were inappropriate.
Overall, best course I have played this year.
A bit loud.
PHL airport with planes landing & takeoff every minute is a bit of a distraction. Golf Now tee prices could not be beat. GREAT layout, fair & a lot of fun ! They are finally putting money back into the course. DEFINITELY will play again.
Course has great views.
Course in fair to average condition. Rough very difficult although inconsistent. Best to take your medicine and get back into the fairway. Distances poorly marked throughout course. Bunker sand fair. Greens a bit bumpy, should be rolled; also some dead areas on greens. Flags marking front-middle-back were a mess, not accurate and hard to tell where the hole was located.
great shape very fair
very good shape especially afer the summer.pace of play slow but will worth it
