Ron Jaworski's RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club
About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Great Course
Overall, a very solid course. Very good conditions, it can get tough when it's windy (& it's that way quite frequently#. All 18 holes are unique, some easy, some hard, all fair, & there are no "tricked-out" holes. But the course, even from the White tees, is long #6,500+ yds). It's definitely NOT a "beginners" or an "I play twice a year course".
Nice course
Very nice, but very slow play. Ranger tried to speed up group ahead, but didn't help.
Great Day Out
Played this course for the first time and it sure was a treat. Interesting holes, challenging layout, phenomenal views and scenery. The rough was very thick which made placement a key. Play slowed a little because a few holes were cart path only and otherwise carts had to be kept in the fairway or on the path. Due to the challenging nature of the course, I could see it being a slow round on a weekend.
I'd fully recommend this course for anyone wanting a change from the typical PA/NJ course.
A great outing
From the friendly staff, very good course conditions,
A very good meal after our round, they are no negatives.will be around more often.
Keep it moving
As was the case last time I played this course, no one on the the course to keep play moving., 4 hour 50 min round. Greens in great shape, fairways are chewed up on most holes. Bunkers are a joke, I thought bunkers had sand in them not rocks. Ron needs to add sand to the bunkers or get the grounds keeper to rake more that the first 1/4" of the bunker
great layout
the conditions were good, views of the city are great. golfNow prices were fair, regular rack rates might be a little steep.
Nice course, some great views
Course was a little wet from rain, balls plugged and made the rough very heavy. Some very nice holes on the course, and can play long when the wind gets going.
17 is a nice par 3 hitting out into the river and the high reeds throughout the course is a nice touch. Nothing overly difficult, but not an easy course either.
The course was in the best shape of any in the area
The course was in great shape. The pace of play was very good, did not have to wait much at all between shots. The only disappointment I had was the lack of a driving range on such a big property.
Nice course but round took too long
Very slow play. Round took well over 5 hours. Very thick rough contributed to slow play.
Very nice
You will like the course. The place doesn't look like much when you pull in, but it's a well maintained fun play. You'll like it, but it can be overpriced so pay attention. Even if you end paying full boat, oh we'll, you will still have fun on a course with a bunch of interesting and different fair holes.
The course overall is beautiful
Loved playing the course. Challenging but also open at the same time. It's all about shot placement. Greens were great and rolled true. Lastly the 17th hole was my favorite! Good luck!!!!
Slow Play. Tee times too frequent
I live close to this course and I love the layout. It is not an easy course. The management insists on spacing tee times every 9 minutes. The man loading the clubs on the cart says be prepared for a slow day. Why? He tells me "because we have 260 players out there". The starter at the 1st tee says we are 2.5 hours per nine. The course is too difficult for that spacing. We played the first 4 holes in 1 hour (waiting on every shot). Got to the 5th tee and there was a group in the fairway and one waiting on the tee. I understand that they need to make money, but I will not play there if it is consistently 5+.
Fun Set Up and Location
The course was fun to play. The description on the website made it seem better than it is. No driving range!! Just a net to shoot into off matts which isn't that bad of a deal because it's free and you shoot as many as you want. Nice mini chipping green and good size putting green but no holes just pins. The finishing holes are the best on the course and the course is in great condition. Defiantly worth a try.
Great Course Shape on Beautiful Day
Course condition was in great shape. If most challenging in that course is wind due to different direction depend on each holes. Rough can get you wrist injury if you off fairway and greedy for distance recovery shot to green. Hole No. 16,17,18 is signature holes in that course. Overall fun playing.. would play again.
plush grass everywhere and well maintained.
I am a member at Scotland run and cancelled my tee time there to play river winds. Very wise choice.
a great option
Love the course and the views. Challenging but also friendly...gives you risk reward decisions. Rangers would show up but say nothing. Course was playing slow. Greens were in great shape, running fast. They need more convenient food and alcohol options. Well definitely be back.
Go Play
Great course, nice view on the back 9. The Riverwinds restruant is also a great place to eat.
very nice course greens fast ,fairways real good condition ,to me it seemed like it played long(5hrs)
back nine par 3 120 yrd downhill over looking thr city ,surrounded by water
Beautiful but slow
Great playing course, well maintained. Only complaint is the pace of play. We were a foursome and it took us more than 5 hours for a 2pm tee time.
Wonderful Track
We were very pleasantly surprised and will return.
