Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Its a great lay out

The course was covered in duck poo The whole course was like that. I've never seen so much on a golf course like that. It was horrible everywhere you stepped you were in it. There should have been a refund.

the course changes as you go around - with the open wind conditions.

I love this course - it being a link style course - flat in most parts and windy when you get by the river. Some of the best holes you will find in South Jersey. Jaws has really helped put this course together.

Super place to play

Very nice course with that country club feel. Had a very good time playing with nobody else around. Was surprised that I never knew about this place.

Love this course

Great course, still in pretty good shape save some water areas roped off on some fairways, but there are a handful of challenging holes. Greens are nice and soft.

I like this course

I'm from this area and have played RiverWinds about 20 times in the past 10 years.

It definitely has some downsides in terms of the practice facilities, but the course itself is always in very solid condition and the views are great along on the Delaware River.

The pace of play can be an issue considering its one of the more popular courses in South Jersey that's also accessible to Philadelphians, but I still think this course is worth playing once to make up your own mind.

Surrounded by a wildlife refuge, this course provides a variety of challenging holes and is always fun to play.

Riverwinds has always been a fun course but there have been numerous improvements since it was acquired by Ron Jaworski. The course has been opened up (foliage tight to the fairways cut back) to be a little less penal on some holes. A putting green has been built near the first tee (previously had nothing) and course maintenance appears to have improved significantly. The starters are very efficient in getting a substantial number of golfers onto the course efficiently. This is one of the very best public courses in the Philadelphia area.

Great challenging course.

The staff does not really seem to be friendly at all in my few experiences. The course is well maintained and does play long so can be quite the challenge.
