Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Played on a weekend morning, so paying top dollar.

Starter clearly wasn't meant to be a customer service front line person, or was having a bad morning.

Range balls were old and dirty. Not washed in a long time.

Course is great, other than traps not maintained. Animal footprints, and old golfer marks from previous days still evident.

Was cart path only and the course was very dry with the exception of a very few spots.

So much potential if the low hanging fruit is taken care of.

Great Course, some work to do this season

Love this course - challenging and fun. When I played last year, it was in pristine shape. Early season this time, not so much. Several tee boxes were in terrible shape, and most of the greens had some disease going on - but they still played decent considering. I’m sure they’ll get it figured out soon.

Nice day frost delay

Great friendly staff. Arrived 1:30 for 2:10 tee time and was informed of 1 hour frost delay. Perhaps cost of afternoon tee time should be adjusted to twilight rates in this circumstance as finishing 18 was impossible
