Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Rain out

I never really got to play. The whole course only played six holes because of a torrential downpour, could not play the course because it was flooded beyond playing conditions. I was wondering if there’s a rain check involved seeing that I only played six holes will you respond to this hopefully yes overall the course seems to be a nice course. I hope to play fully in the future.

DISAPPOINTING!!

Course used to be a gem - one of the top public courses that you could play in NJ. NO LONGER!!

Course conditions have drastically deteriorated. Beat up tee boxes. Fairways in poor condition. Many ball washers without water. Driving range mats frayed with beat up old balls.

VERY OVERPRICED at $81 weekday for a non-county resident - absolutely NOT worth the price.

Will NOT be returning anything soon.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

I am a 16 handicap and usually try and play courses that are not too challenging because I am trying to improve... slowly. This course was challenging for me with elevation changes and some blind shots, but I absolutely LOVED IT. I shot a 90 and was very happy with that score. The price was very reasonable and I will be playing this course again.

Great track but tee boxes were a mess. Divots through out the course were left unrepaired. Such potential but lacked the fine details that make a course great.
