About
Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Scenic beauty and superb playing conditions
First three holes offer a stunning vista across the valley. Immaculate greens and carpet like fairways abound.
Shhhh….
Don’t want to do this but I feel I owe it to the course. First time on the course on the day after an inch of rain and the greens were perfect. Nothing flat, ups and downs, and challenging. 16 par 3 is ridiculous, have to hit 6 with draw over the water at the pin to get it on the green, when you’re hitting fatigue. Some other challenging holes. Layout takes full advantage of the topography and the natural beauty. Enjoy!
Great course at a great price
Grass in tee boxes is used up given seems like many holes people use irons off the tee. Otherwise this is A+ and highly recommended
Relaxing Night of Golf
Nice greens, quiet mid-week golf. We teamed up with another pair of golfers. The course is a bit tight which makes it challenging. Close and convenient for us!

Brought my son here for the first time. He likes playing a variety of courses and found BV to be one of his favorites! Fairways and greens in great shape and the service was friendly and welcoming. Five stars!
Nice course getting abused
This used to be one of my favorite courses.
Apparently it's had one too many rounds played on lately.
Way too many divots and burned spots.
The course needs fewer rounds played on it to recover.
This course was good
It was beautiful course.
If you are hitter, it's not for you.Because it's narrow.
You will be losing the balls.
The grass the condition was good.
Challenging course but enjoyable
The course has great views and there is not much flat about it. If it is flat there are challenges to get to the flat. We played on a rainy day and the water did not pool anywhere on the course. Some tee boxes could use some care. The only negative is the golf carts. No GPS and no way to cover your clubs to protect from the rain.

Got lucky with a Hot Deal for this course and saved about $40. Conditions were very good and pace was great. it's a great course to walk as it's got moderate inclines. It's always a special treat to play here.
