About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Very poor condition
The entire course is in a bad shape. The owner of this course is the city of Delray. They should be aschamed as they are not investing the proper amount of money to maintain this course. Also an incident occurred on the 5 hole when a threesome of young men decided to skip a hole and went to the TeeOff in front of us as they felt that as a foursome we were not playing fast enough even if we followed the foursome in front of us. The worst thing about this situation is that the Marshall was present when this happen and let them go. The round has been played in 4:05 hours.
Improving
Delray Beach Municipal golf course has been improved since the last summer. It appears the greens have been over seeded as there is significant grass on many holes. The people managing the course are doing the best they can on a very limited budget and staff. Better is better, you would notice if you were playing this past summer.
Nice lauout but rough condition
Very varoable player skills around. And if you put for low skilled players in the same group, they will vlock the whole course. So happened to us and 4:40 later we were out after constant eaiting…
Awesome Donald Ross Experience!
Ignore all the negative reviews. I had a great experience on this classic Donald Ross layout. Course was in much better shape than the other reviews indicate. Staff was super friendly, especially Lisa in the clubhouse grill! Will be back to play again soon!
Delray Muni
Love history of this course but course conditions poor, esp greens. Staff very nice. Pace sluggish pressed from behind often due to backups.
