About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Garbage / Outdated
- this gem must be run by people who play tennis, because they have no idea how to run a golf course.
-people please stop saying this is a Donald Ross course -this is trash. There’s nothing special about it.
Greens you can’t putt on
4 1/2 hours to play w/ many groups of 3
25 minute wait at the snack bar after 9
and I even saw one guy wearing a black tank top which was excepted.
The city should put adults in charge and get it back on track.

Great course left to rot
I want to start off with my great experiences at this course. I grew up playing here as a kid, learning to play golf between baseball seasons at their stellar golf camp every summer. It was a BLAST and I learned to love to game at this course. The course was in decent shape, the holes were fun, and the indoor facilities were verytbing you could need.
The layout of the course itself is great, with moderately challenging par 4s, scoreable par 5s, and par 3s that you can get super creative with.
Unfortunately, for the past 5-10 years, the maintenance (most likely budget-related) has significantly gone downhill. The fairways are mostly sand, dirt and rock, and the greens are much the same. It’s just not up to any normal standard. And this was not the way the course used to be. Apparently, there are plans to re-do this course as they have to run the new city water main through the course, and the city is putting money towards the re-furbishing of this once-great course. I really hope that’s the case!
The staff here is mostly full of really really great people. Johnny, the cart manager, has been there forever and is an absolute gem. The big lumbering cart guy (can never catch his name) isn’t super friendly and can be straight up rude quite often. Everyone else is wonderful. This place just needs some love! For now, your money and time is better spent at the par 60 Lakeview down the street.
I hate leaving a not-so-positive review about my local, home course where I learned to play, but I really just want to see this place back to a fun, normal standard, and I know most of my (few remaining) long-time Delray locals feel the same.
Fix it
Course is a great layout, but the conditions are horrendous I don't understand why Delray Beach can't raise and spend the money to build a nice course

Greens needs repairs
Greens are so bad , spots of wild grass all over the green. Needs repairs asap. Fairways are not that bad.

To bad the city of Delray doesn’t put money into maintenance of the course. Then layout is excellent but fairways and greens need input. Good staff in and aroumd clubhouse.

Really good layout, good pace especially at high noon thru 3pm. Excellent staff. Put some money into overall care, greens and fairways would be outstanding public course

Good value in summer
Course is in need of TLC, but I still like to play it. Hot as heck, but that's the only break us locals get.

Decent golf course
Very good layout with a good variety of holes. Overall course in okay shape, greens spotty but roll well, fairways decent but not overall in good shape. Course is average shape and with some money could be a very good rated course.
