Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Lake Course

This course never disappoints no matter what time of year. Find me another course this nice and costs $60 to play as a non member. Only big negative is i live little over an hour away.

A great 50 degree sunny winter day after a lot of rain made for a soft but challenging golf course. Cart paths only and a crowded group of golfers made the course play a bit slow but that’s understandable for this great weather on December 29th at a fun link’s style layout .

Beautiful course, rough was not forgiving, greens in great shape. Very helpful staff. Too bad the restaurant is only open for events, couldn’t get a drink after playing.

Great course, first time playing here in about 2 months, always a pleasure. Arrived a little early and let me go off as a single. Two other guys joined me and had a great time. Only complaint, many of the greens had many ball marks, wish people would fix their marks. One of my favorite NJ courses in that area and always in great shape. Highly recommend playing.

Course is beautiful but challenging.

Played in 43 degree temperatures. Greens had plenty of roll with inbound shots.

Great pace of play post season and mid week.

This is a very good public golf facility with good value. This time of year can be challenging with conditions as the greens were slower than normal. The only drawbacks are they allow players who have no business being out there especially from the tees they select to play, i.e. beginning golfers and golfers who are not very good topping shots on the tee and hitting two more attempts on every hole. There was no ranger to police any of this. Also the starter on the tee is not good at his job and doesn't know how to manage the tee sheet or flow acknowledging golfers as they check in with him and or to get them out to play. No one wants to start their round with a sour puss.

Finally made it here and I will be returning soon. Every hole was in great shape as if it was the beginning of the year. Tee boxes were well maintained. Fairways were perfect, greens were ideal. Fescue was recently cut so even those bad shots that got away, I was able to find. I can see the fescue being a serious issue when they are higher but that's a player's issue. Great views all around. Will be back soon.

WE had a 10:35 tee time and we did not go off till 10:50. It was not the starter it was the pro or someone else who was so busy talking he forgot about us. We were sent out as a twosome among foursomes. There was a group on the course that were very slow and didn't care about playing slow. At one point they had 3 holes open in front of them. There were 3 groups waiting on a par three. The ranger drove right by them. When the group behind us complained to the ranger he finally told them to speed up. We were on pace for a 6 hour round so we skipped 2 holes to get ahead of them. When we talked the gentleman at the pro shop he was no help at all. This is a beautiful course but the inattentiveness of the staff made it a long and tedious day. It was sad because my son was shooting even par.
