Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Lake/Ridge Course
About
Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole layout that sprawls across 420 acres of rolling farmland. It is the flagship course of the five-course Somerset County Park Commission system. The design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry crafted the layout, which is divided into three nines called the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow. The nines can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Lake/Ridge Course, as the name would imply, starts out with a few water holes. In addition to the lakes on the front nine, environmentally sensitive wetland areas come into play throughout. The fairways and greens are bordered by ample fescue and the putting surfaces are closely guarded by strategically placed bunkers. Neshanic Valley also offers a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course, which is great for beginners.

Can't wait to come back
What a beautiful golf course. Condition was very good except the green were show and bumpy (airated recently) But more than exceptable for December. I can't wait to come back in the spring
Fun to play but not cheap
This is a fun course to play with a nice mixture of easy and hard holes. Course is in good shape people just need to replace divots and fix ball marks.
the greens - what an atrocity
the tee boxes, fairways, & sand traps were in great condition, as expected. The greens were the worst I played all year. Obviously the early Nov aeration hurts BUT you could roll or cut the greens, maybe move the pins. Atrocious would be the word I would use to describe the greens. No one fixes their ball marks so there were craters everywhere. It was disappointing because I know how good they are. They were punching the fairways so they maybe sanding the fairways.
Love this course
One of my favorite public courses to play in New Jersey. Not only is it always in great shape but it drains so well right after rain. Rarely is it cartpath only. The difference in each of the three courses makes every hole challenging. Plus you got a love the fact they have a grass practice range.
One of the best courses in the area
One of the best courses in the area, meticulously maintained and managed.
I hate playing a nice course After it has been aerated. They said that they were alternating nines but two out of three nines were aerated and it made greens impossible to putt. Thus it was a bad experience and not worth the money.
Best public course in NJ
IMO best public course in NJ, always immaculate. Layout is challenging but fun, no holes that seem out of place or not interesting. Overall awesome course, 70$ for this course is a steal, could easily charge 100$+
Fantastic day
The facility is magnificent. From the driving range to the executive 9 hole to the clubhouse to the 27 hole complex. The course is in magnificent shape with dark green grass and golden fescue. The staff is welcoming and the proshop offers affordable golf wear. Highly recommend.
