Great course for players from beginning to advanced.
Played here twice now and realky enjoyed it each time. Great holes along the way.
Golf in the city
What a gem!
Walking distance from Dublin City centre.
A narrow course layout with a good variation of doglegs.
You need to know how to hit it straight! 😅
Tight but rewarding
Quite rightly, you're very much a second class citizen if you play here as a non-member. This didn't affect us badly, even. We got out on time, were behind a club member four ball, and just had to be patient the odd time during the round. So no complaints! It's just that at other clubs (who are probably trying to increase membership), you get this really warm welcome, and the pace of play zips along.
It's a lovely course, though some of the greens were not as good this time, a little raggedy here and there - I had to move my ball laterally on the 12th to avoid a bit of crazy golf putting.
Tough course for an amateur
Whilst I’ve been playing golf for years I’m more of a weekend warrior. I normally play much easier courses so I found Clontarf very challenging. It didn’t help that my game was off. The course itself is lovely with some thinking required on every hole. It really didn’t help that I kept on hitting my shots into the trees.
City golf at its best
Well maintained city garden course with very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of nice trees, grass in top condition and nice yet challenging greens. Lots of young players which is nice to see for the sport !
Great value for money on a nice tight track in the heart of Dublin City
I brought my brother out to Clontarf as he had always wanted to play it but never had the chance so when a slot came up on Golfnow to play it for €18 per had I snapped it up and we were not dissapointed. it was tremendous value for money and the amenities were fantastic. The course was in great condition if not a little burned but that was because we were in the middle of a heatwave. The golf was great and my brother had a great round and wiped the floor with me. I would definitely be back.
Great value for money.
Really enjoyed a round in Clontarf. Challenging but also forgiving on some holes and will play again at the first opportunity.
The only negative and it was a minor one to be fair was we had a 745am tee-off and no staff on site (apart from green keepers) to provide cards for the game.
