Wild Turkey Golf Club
About
Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of New Jersey's top public courses. It is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses including the popular Ballyowen and Crystal Springs golf courses. Wild Turkey combines characteristics from both. The layout has a unique design inspired by the interesting topography, which is most aptly described as "basin and ridge." The "basin" of the course is a wide-open expanse that offers plenty of room while the holes that play along the "ridge" of the golf course tumble across a variety of elevation changes. Due to the dramatic undulations of the terrain, it's a tough golf course to walk. Wild Turkey Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh. This tricky hole calls for a demanding carry over a quarry lake in order to reach the well protected green.

Course in nice shape- bunkers are pathetic for the $
The course overall is in the best shape I've ever seen it and have played a million times over the years. The greens get beat up due to lots of play but were OK. The bunkers are offensively bad for the money they are charging now. For $160+ its really unacceptable to have bunkers basically with gravel in them. They redid 1 &18 and the rest are awful. Seems like they are filling in a lot of them with grass but seems pretty silly for a course of this caliber and cost to not have bunkers, with sand?
Best birthday round
We got the golf and beer rate. The course was great and the food and beer were top notch. Very friendly staff. Excellent day.
Best TEC in Jersey
Course is in good shape, they recently had lots of rain, so they were redoing a lot of the sand traps, but the rest of the course was good. The pace of play moves right along and the layout is great with very few blind shots. What makes this place is Rachel at the halfway house. She makes the best Taylor ham, egg, and cheese (TEC) sandwich in New Jersey. The TEC is unbelievable.
Challenging yet appropriate for all skill levels
My only complaint about the course was the condition of the greens. They were sandy, full of ball marks and annoyingly slow. Someone actually chipped off the 17th green and left divots! Other than that, we had a great round. Shout out to the super friendly, professional cart girl.
Spring rate best money you can get!!!!
Course conditions was okay except sand
In the bunker was awful..no ranger a group in front of us was slow.. every hole we need to wait.
Wild Turkey
Course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly
Winter Golf
For winter golf, it was as good as it gets. Paired up with another single and teed off at 8:30. Finished at 11:45. Played through 1 foursome. Some tee boxes were frozen and you needed an above ground tee. Greens (as expected) were shaggy and slow but overall not in horrible shape. I love the course but prices every where have been nuts lately. I believe this is a $100 course in prime condition. While it felt expensive considering the conditions, I love the course and layout so it works for me.
Way overpriced
Understood that since the pandemic, all courses have jacked up their greens fees, but 160+ for Wild Turkey is pricey. Layout is fine, conditions are decent but not at that price.
Great shape for this time of year... Price too high for Fall.
Bunkers very inconsistent.
Greens rolling true and fast
Its all about conditions
Although we were behind a league, things moved along quite well There was some odd maintenance going on the front 9. Appears they were spreading what we call "pea sized" gravel on the T boxes. Kinda stuff you find mixed with the salt on roads in the winter; 'grits" . No clue why that instead of sand. Maybe they got a deal on it. Anyway, a young fella towing piece of metal fence across the top of the T boxes was kicking up quite a dust storm as we and other fellow golfers pondered if we should have worn masks today; it was like an Arizona dust storm out there. No clue why they do this stuff when we pay to play here. And, I would not consider grounding my new $500 driver on the top of those T boxes for at least a few months until those pea size stones find a new home. So, T um up high fellas.
Very odd course management.
