Variety

This is an excellent undulating golf course. There is the odd hill but nothing massively strenuous, compared to many Wales.

The biggest theme was immediate OoB on everyhole on the first half, this then gets replaced by very thick bushes and trees which you're not finding a stray golf ball, this finally stops around hole 14 but holes 15 & 16 are monster +400

For golfers which are wild off the tee take plenty of balls (we all went through about 4).

This course has a really nice mix of holes, with a couple of blind tee shots. It will allow you to use every club in your bag. The greens had recently been treated but they were still very good with the impression of being excellent.

I look forward to returning.

Fun, quirky little course kept in good nick. Managed to get for £14 which is outstanding value and well worth it. Some questionable tee boxes holding back the rating a bit.

A little gem tucked away

Hard to find at first as a new housing estate has been built close by but I’m sure signs will be erected soon. Lovely welcome from the pro in the shop. Booked as a one ball but soon seen two other lads going off after me so we teamed up as a 3ball. Really impressed with the course lovely challenging holes nothing boring every hole has its own individuality. Absolute bargain at £15.99 also. Would defo recommend and also will be coming back in the future. Well done Llanwern

Great all round course

Great all round course to play. Greens were in excellent condition and very receptive. Fairways were very well kept. Very friendly staff on arrival. Only negative I could think of is the temporary tee boxes were a bit difficult to get me tee into, but that is being overly critical. Will definitely be playing here again!

Best winter course

The course was in amazing condition, the ground was firm but sticks not too much roll out and higher shots but over all good too hit off and honestly I was impressed after playing the Monty at the Celtic a well before this place was 10x better condition with better flow and playability

Great little course

Great course. We played just after Christmas so understandably not the best conditions but the course was still in good shape. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Will be back.

6holes shut

I appreciate it's not the courses fault that some holes are wet due to bad weather.

However I should've been informed somehow that 6holes were shut prior to our arrival, it was a works Xmas round of golf and we paid £20 for essentially 12holes of golf , which was disappointing. More communication needs to happen between the courses themselves and golf now .

Only 12 holes open

While most courses were closed on the 02/12/24 this course was open with holes 4-9 closed.

The Pro confirmed it’s ok to play 24 holes of golf if we wanted 1,2 & 3 then 10-18 twice.

We only played holes 1,3, 12, 14, 17 & 18 the second round to make up 18 holes.

So good no doubt will return.

I played this course with two friends age range 62-66. With handicaps 10,15,20.

The weather the previous days had been horrendous with heavy rain. Our respective courses Creigiau and Newport were closed.

This course was open and you wouldn’t have thought there had been poor weather.

The fairways and greens were superb.

This course has some quirky par 3, long par 4 and 5.

A good challenge for a parkland course.

We used our electric trolleys and found the walk daily easy considering the weather previously.

There is a large club house serving normal variety of drinks at a very reasonable price.

No doubt we shall return.
